Salts in the bed

Discussion in 'Growing Organic Marijuana' started by 2cent420, Oct 24, 2021.

  1. A growers preference. Epsom salt is cheap and does the job. When growing lots of plants that use 5 to 7 tablespoons per feed feeding 12 to 24 plants cheap wins as long as it works

  2. Both same cost here sat next to each other in the shop.
I was just asking about it as a fertiliser rather than a mg replacement for deficiencies etc though.
I've always seen salt to be a killer ...to feed plants I'd thought I'd burn em lol not make them thrive

  3. Yea if you grow organically and can get some. I'd probably look into several feeding methods for the dead sea salt. It's suppose to have like 90 or something minerals, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt anything used correctly. Plants would probably love it. If it's any different than Epsom salt. Epsom salt is rather hard to over use, being that the sea salt is richer I wouldn't think they would be treated the same

  4. Are you guys talking about Sea-90? I heard of it being used in teas. It’s an ingredient in ‘Boogie Brew’. I haven’t heard much grower talk from folks that actually use it, so I would definitely do some research into the best practices for application. Since I haven’t seen much info, I would be interested in hearing how it works for the op if you go that route.
The thing to find out is how fast the Mg becomes available after application. That determines whether you will need to use it reactively or proactively. I think the extra minerals, whether it be 21 or 90 would be most useful in grows that lack kelp and rock dusts.
    Cheers

  5. No idea bubba I've never seen sea salt used in indoor or outdoor gardening. I googled sea salts for plants and read into it a little bit also clicked on a few products before responding.
