I'm into my 3rd week of vegging 5 clones. Over the last 5 days I have noticed that the leaves are sagging a lot more than usual...any ideas what might be causing this? Anything to worry about?

Also, my ppm has been increasing daily instead of going down...

looks like low turgor pressure, which is just a fancy way of saying ure plantz dont have enough water to support themselves. Is that an aero setup?

  3. could b too much water weighing it down

  4. Yes, but it. also has six way tubing feeding the netpots directly. It's the system that Stealth hydro sells (bubbleponics).

  5. That's what we were thinking. We were wondering if we shutdown the tubes feeding the netpots for a short period of time daily (currently running 24/7) if that would help?

  6. sorry dude i dont kno squat about hydro but it sounds like u got a good plan, just do it a little at a time nothing drastic. u could also ask someone at a hydro store, im sure they would b tons of help

  7. Dont really know much about hydro but it looks like too much water...try letting it go for a few hours on (like 4 or 5) then for like a half an hour to an hour shut it off, then back on for a few more dont know if you have the means for this but do what you think is best

  8. Have the roots popped out of the netpots? I'm guessing rockwool in hydroton pebbles in a DWC?

    Droopy leaves = under/overwatering...

Increasing PPM's + Lowering Water = Over Feeding. Lock out. The increasing PPM are salts and unused nutrients.

Add water to your reservoir and cut down the PPM. Maybe flush your medium with ph balanced water

That "drooping" is probably over watering...which makes sense if your nutes and water are constantly be delivered.

Marijuana is not an aquatic plant; so make sure its getting some "dry-time." Clones and seedlings are one thing--but Growing and Flowering are another
On an ebb and flow, for example, plants are in a "dry" environment far...far.. more than a wet one. Same goes for with organic too.

  10. I'll second that. If it were me I would flush them and then leave your lights on for a day solid, no breaks. Then recheck your PPM going in and coming out. PH check after you cut the res mix down also.

  11. The roots have only drop on the one in the back right corner of the pic. The other 4 barely show and visable roots through the netpots. I thought this was strange since they were all started at the same time...

  12. Funny little things these roots. Watch for my journal in the next couple days. I have hundreds of hi-res pics going up. You can see the different varieties and how their roots grow nothing close to one another. A lot of people over look the root zones of their plants and how they are responding. I check my roots like I check my ph, every other day.
I would also suggest a foliage feeding program, they work wonders for helping your plants work out "issues".

I personally use all Dutch Master Gold nutes with Liquid Light and penetrator gold for foliar feeding every third day. I will personally testify to the Liquid Light and Penetrator combo as I have seen my plant sizes almost double and I have also seen the number of issues I had with my plants go down.

  13. OK, changed the res today with RO pH neutral water. I plan to run the lights through tonight (instead of shutting down from 12a to 6a). After flushing tonight we had some questions.

    1. We're in our 3rd wk of veg, can we start the bloom cycle?
    2. Do we need to continue to veg?
    3. In either case, do we need to change the res again b4 adding nutes again?

  14. If your using a nute designed for flowering then use you will. I would suggest Dutch Master for ALL beginners. Their online nutrient calculator is remarkable. And their Gold range products for sure deliver. I have countless pics of side by side comparisons with other nutes including Dutch Masters old line of nutes and add .27 Nothing compares.:D

And FYI, for adding a little boost of co2 on the cheap, try spraying them with soda water, no salt added please, lol. Seriously, they love it and I did this for a long time before using Liquid Light products.

  15. That's a good (cheap) solution with the soda water. We'll definitely try that. How often and how much should we spray?

Also, we're going to start letting the plants "dryout" instead of running the feeding tubes 24/7. Should we mimic out light cycle (6a - 12a currently but will be moving to 6p to 6a during bloom cycle) or turn the pump off for a longer duration?

  16. I only feed during the light cycle let them breath at night

  17. 1.) It really depends on the strain. For example: Im growing a plant for fast-flower by Paradise seeds (called Belladonna). The breeders strongly recommend flowering at 8 inches for Maximum THC production. This plant strain is also recommended (by the breeders) to be used in a sea of green set-up; because of their short veg time and fast flowering (they claim 8 weeks). Too you...I'd suggest going to the seed breeders and see what they have to say on their web site. Read some of those Dutch Breeders Blogs too--they can be good reads.

    2. Again, I'd want to see what the Breeders say....and what other peeps are having success with when it comes to an unfamiliar strain.

    3. If you are changing your reservoir evey 10-14 days; you shouldn't have to, unless you really need too ( SHIT--I just dropped my 4 litre jug of Ph Down into my rez). Mostly you will be tweaking the rez until you find the right PPM consumption level by the plant. To do this you'll need a TDS meter. You want to get into a situation where--Your PPM is steady on a day to day basis (as mentioned earlier). But water levels are decreasing. So if your PPM falls and so does your water level. That means your plant is eating everything you give--plus wants more....so you would Tweak by adding more nutes...then keep watching and adjusting til you have a Steady formula. Then when 2 weeks are up and it's time to change the res--Guess what--now you start all over again (but you'll get good at it with practice) This is why you have to keep a logue (or as the cops call it--exibit "A" :p). Everyday write down your PPM, Ph level, and any unusual additions to your hydro solution (EG: Epsom Salts).
Also (and most importantly: How Much of What you Added; so you know how you got your next readings' results). Then you can reference it later on.

And.....that's the game of "chase" we here play in Water-World

    Good Luck
