Safe to smoke with diabetes?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by inb4bud, Sep 24, 2012.

  1. Im just wondering if its safe to smoke with either:
    Type 1 Diabetes
    or
Type 2 Diabetes, and if it helps in any way?

  2. Google, I think so.

  3. From what I hear it is totally safe.

The Rick Simpson Run From The Cure movie claims that cannabis has re-generative properties and can regenerate the insulin secreting cells in the Pancreas. Not sure how true it is, but i've read some shit!

I've also read that cannabis can somehow very slightly control blood sugar levels. I do not know the scientific reasoning behind this or even if it is true.

  4. just watch out for the munchies don't want to OD on a sugar induced munchie rage.

  6. It's so depressing. It's shown that cannabis can help slow down and even reverse the neurological damage of cannabis and is a massive pain relief for areas like the feet.

Both my parents have type 2, but fortunately it's not too bad, they are able to keep it in check with herbal medicine (actual herbs, no cannabis) and strict dieting.

  7. You will be fine just beware of the munchies as posted and also try to stay as active if not more

  8. My good friend is type 2 and smokes 10x more than I do....you're good

  9. yeah unless you start chowing down on all the good pastries you shouldn't have in your kitchen

  10. Yeah, I'm diabetic and I don't have a problem smoking. I do always remember to do the insulin and everything before I smoke, though, so that when the munches hit, I'm good and there's no danger of forgetting.

  11. A new study shows smoking marijuana may assist in regulating blood sugar and assist those with diabetes.

  12. It is actually good for lowering and regulating blood sugar. Just make sure that when you get the munchies you munch on some carrots and celery or something.
