Made this (for fun as usual) and thought i'd share it with GC. Comments are well appreciated! ------------------------------------------------------ xx UPDATED VERSION xx Made some minor changes to the layout and mixed up the colours to help with the readability. ------------------------------------------------------ (Click for full view)
it fits together well but something's off with the color hierarchy or flow of the words cause i had trouble reading it at first. mainly the 'what they say' part.
Damn. I knew it. Thought i had it though, but you'll stare yourself blind on your own work sometimes. I'll wait and see if others think it's a problem before fixing it. Thanks alot though for the input, always much appreciated!
i like the tilt and the question marks being so bulked out. i too had trouble with the transistion between true then reading down. many ways to change, make bigger, colors, etc. like what your doin though!
Thanks alot man! At first, it actually wasn't tilted. I tilted it so that it would make the "what they say" part easier to read I'm working on a fix, i'll have it up as soon as i think i've hit the spot! The critique is much appreciated!
yea, i know what you mean. i used to be in school for graphic design but switched to photo. i was really into typography, though.
Typography is awesome! Photography seems easier at first - you don't have to design anything. But you forget how many "other" problems that line of work entails
YOU LIKE THE COLURS ? (Just kidding) Thanks man, i really appreciate it! I have a lot of stuff up here on GC, you can find most, if not all of it by searching for the threads i've started.
Bump - updated version has arrived! Anyone care to tell me if the changes helped with the readability issues ?
I like it. After viewing the updated version the first one seems just as easy to read. Weird. Anyone else notice that? How did you make this? PS? What Font?
Darn. I hoped seperating the colours a bit more and diversifying the warmth would help but i guess not. It's doomed (sob sob) I guess this isn't a piece that is supposed to be 100% easily readable. And thanks for the kind words, much appreciated. I made it in Photoshop. The font is called Angies new house.
no prob, thanks for the rep, i used to love drawing and all that good stuff...i dont know what ever happened tho
It's never too late to take it up again. Give it some time, i have learned that you can't force your creativity.
yeah, ive found that to...like theres time in classes where ill need to draw something...and i just cant get those creative juices flowing, ya know? but a nice fat joint before class sometimes help tho
I am not shitting you here, but when i smoked everyday (which isn't happening at the moment purely because of my financial situation), the creativity wasn't happening on the level it is at the moment, when i only smoke in between - this is of course related to the fact that to get creativity and real brain-stimulation out of cannabis, you only need a very small dosage and that larger dosages can kill the very thing you are trying to stimulate. So if you feel like it isn't coming through, try a t-break, just for the fun of it, a week or two without cannabis, then smoke a joint and see what happens. Perhaps you'll be pissed off that the creativity still isn't flowing the right way and that you could have avoided cleaning your room ten times over and spent the time stoned instead, or perhaps you will find a sudden rush of ideas coming from all directions (like i've had in the past few weeks) - who knows ?
ive kind of been on a t break for the past month, also financial issues, and i find when i smoke a joint my brain just starts working overtime, and when i get a time to sit down and think, i get all these crazy thoughts, and beautiful images in my head
I know that feeling Hopefully you'll get on track and start finding joy in making artwork again. I know i have, after a spell of disillusioned times with no real inspiration.
