Just stick with a speed adjuster, My 6 inch active air inline fan fucking ROARS full blast, but cutting it down 25% makes a HUGE difference. Talked to the guy at the local hydro store and told me straight out that the Silencers are overated. so instead of spending over 300 dollars to fix my problem. I spend 25$ I planned on buying a whole new inline fan along with the silencers, But I plugged in a 6 inch Sunleaves Wind tunnel which are known to be relatively quite and it was just as loud if not louder than the fan I have now
