Rusty nails?

Discussion in 'Advanced Growing Techniques' started by MagikWand, Mar 15, 2010.

  1. Has anyone ever heard of using Rusty nails mixed in with you're medium (more for soil I would imagine)? And if so, how do they help?

  2. My mom would bury nails in the Hydrangea beds. The flowers would turn a different color. A rusting nail will release iron oxide to the soil. If the plant needs iron, it would get it from the iron oxide I suppose.

  3. There are ways to get iron in your soil w/o having to use rusty nails. For cannabis I would doubt they have any effect - it is not as sensitive to iron as hydrangea are.

  4. I used to drink Rusty Nails (scotch & Drambuie) but I've never tried it on a growing plant.
