Russet mites or nitrogen deficiency??

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by bbgbs74, May 1, 2018.

  1. I took a close up pick of the leaf and a pic of the tent overall.
I thought it was nitrogen deficiency but someone told me it could be russet mites.
    Any thoughts would be helpful.

What light are you using and how close is it? The top leaves appear to be curling upwards. Do the leaves feel dry? Do you know the temps/RH at the canopy? See First grow problem - Edges of leaves are curling up? | Grow Weed Easy.

Some of the bottom leaves appear dark green and are curling downwards, which is different. If not pest-related it might be from nitrogen toxicity (not deficiency) in the past. Different things going on at different parts of the plant.

Could be russet mites. To check for russet mites, you could try looking very carefully underneath the leaves. That's where they hang out. You might be able to see them with a good microscope and a careful eye, or if you stare closely enough and there are enough of them in a group. Check the leaves that have spotted damage, and the leaves above them as they migrate upwards towards the source of heat. Spray regularly with neem oil to stay safe.

  3. I'm using 315watt Sun system lec
    Temp 63-74 rh 52-90 current is 70
The light was @18inches...I raises that up to 24
As far as nitrogen toxicity...I'm using GH Duo...I did the mild strength amount listed on the bottle...1ML per gal. They were yellowing before and seem to have better color since I adjusted to that amount.

  4. Looks like russet mites to me too
