My last few feedings/waters have been going in at 6.2 and coming out the same. Slurry test testing at 7.1. Not really sure why. Don't have a TDS meter just pH meter which I got from my local hydro store. HM brand I think. Just having some problems as I'm week 3 in flower. Brown tips and yellowing on a few top leaves, twisting of sugar leaves and clawing of some lower leaves. Just let me know what you guys think. Thanks...
She's been in a mix of FFOF and perlite for about 2 months. Just started feeding Lotus bloom nutes about 2 weeks ago at 3/4 tsp per gallon. I feed, water, feed etc. I just started phng my water to 6.2 about 2 weeks ago also. Temp 72-78 and RH 35-45% before I started phng my tap water I was strictly using distilled and spring water since she sprouted..my towns tap water is pretty hard water so that's why I wasn't initially using it. I always water to about 10-15% runoff. I'll try to get a photo uploaded but hasn't been letting me for some reason is why I haven't uploaded ome
distilled water is no good and you should order a tds meter from amazon right away they come as a set with a ph meter for under 20 bucks you need to know the ppm going in if it is over 1200 you are over feeding also i do water water feed
Okay yeah I've been doing a lot of reading. Seems I do need one. I actually have one in my Amazon cart just haven't ordered it yet. I have switched to my in-laws tap water which is 10x better considering they're on county water and I'm township. I had to use 4ml of pH down to get my towns tap water down 2 points. The tap water I just used yesterday when i fed only needed literally .5 ml and then a couple drops to drop it over 2 points. I knew something was wrong with my towns water. I guess it has alot of sediments in it when it takes that much pH down to adjust it just a couple points.
And I've been using a pH meter and a test tube with the indicator drops and they're both reading the same everytime I test something.
I have been growing a few years and the last 3 were very successful and I used spring water from Walmart by the gallon it takes about 50 gallons for a grow so it is cost effective in the long run
That's what I was using but then I heard it slowly raises pH so I started using my in-laws tap water. Water is actually around 7 pH from the tap
feed the girls based on plant needs vs a manufacturers printed schedule. Only you know how much they are growing and what their needs are relative to your 'controlled' environment. Rarely is local water quality so bad that you need to buy store bought but it does happen i guess, watering to 15% runoff every time isn't something I'd do either, just my .02.... Might want to look into dialing in the VPD as well -
Man my local water has came out brown and black before. Like more than sometimes and then when I let it sit out for 24 hours all this white gunk is at the bottom Nd the water is like cloudy so I just figured with it taking so much pH down to get it down just a couple points it probably wasn't the best. This is my first grow so I'm still learning as I go
