Ive got a Super Silver Haze. She was planted May 1st and its now Sep 3rd and still no real signs of budding. Im pretty sure that ive spotted preflowers but they havent changed in a week and im starting to get concerned that if somthing doesn't happen fast, im gonna run into frost issues. any advice would be awesome.
Only thing i can think of is youre gonna have to harvest early if it gets into freezing temps in late oct or early nov. just watch the weather and go as long as you can. Ive heard on here that some plants can go through a frost no prob, but ive always grown bagseed and i dont risk it since i learned the hard way. As soon as it gets to 32 degrees at night, that baby is comin down finished or not. Good luck.
thanks for the advice... its my first year so im not expecting a perfect grow anyways. i now wish i would have picked a different strain
I love hazes!!! I start my lemon haze February inside then they go out in April or may they finish in October 1st week!
i grew that last year outside in central cali.was still waiting for them to finish in december.some mornings they were covered in ice.that bud was useless, definitely harvest early and at least make some hash or butter.
Try not to get too down about it hoppnessmonster - cool name by the way. I also planted super silver haze (first week of May) and like yours, they have not shown anything. With a long flowering period and a short growing season here in the Midwest, I knew my odds were slim to harvest mature buds. But I wanted to try it anyway 'cause the stuff sounds great and I enjoy growing new strains. Along with SSH I planted shorter flowering period plants that will mature in time, but I learned this only from many years of gardening. Now you know for next year what strains to choose that will do well in your locale. Look at it as a good gardening experience and who knows, if the weather remains fair, we may get a little taste of haze.
personally if it were mine and in my back yard.. I would cover it at nights and on the nights I had a frost warning I would run a string of Christmas lights to keep it warm. Don't cover with thin plastic use something that can protect it and also don't put the fabric on the leaves. I usually will use three stakes that are taller than the plant and throw a quilt over. I am also aware you cant do this if you are growing up in the woods somewhere.
I am growing a SSH now. It doing pretty good. In the PAC. NW area. It's the plant you see in the bottom right corner with what looks like white balls on top of it. I have Sour Diesel thats way slower. (middle row left side)
