Runners: How much do you run?

  1. I'm just curious because I started running again after not running regularly since last summer. Runners of all experience levels feel free to post. I would like to know how often/how many miles you run. My personal goal is to work my way up to running a half marathon, and then a full marathon.

My first day back I did 6 miles at once, and then 2 before going to bed, and I've been doing 3-4 miles fasted in the morning, and then, if I'm not weight lifting that day, I do another 6+ miles later in the day. It was hard the first few days after getting started since my calves were really sore, but it's getting easier and I love pushing my self harder. Feeling the sun beating down on ya and all of the sweat dripping of of me is such a great feeling! Also, music really helps me keep going, and a cup of black coffee in the morning before the fasted runs is great as well.

  2. I used to be a competitive runner.

Mainly relatively short distances though. 5k or about 3 miles? My times were around 18:30.

Trained 4 days a week, with interval training twice.

I am bulking for the next couple months, but once i get my weight up, i will cut and start running again.

Man i miss the runners high.

  3. I ran in high school I was a 16:45 5k, 4:26 mile, 1:55 800. I just did a riverbank 10k race today for my first run in months. I used to run 6 days a week. Workouts on tues/thurs and long run on sunday. I got up to 14 mile long runs and usually running 60 miles a week.

  4. Really impressive man. I was injured every track season except my sophomore year so I never had a chance to run times like that.

  5. For sure man it's such a great feeling. :D

I used to run 5k in HS but now I just run on and off 1-3x/wk usually on the lower end and normally 1-2 miles, maybe 3 here or there.

I love running but hate how much weight I'd probably drop if I ran more.

  6. 5k? .....

  7. Are you asking what it is? It's a distance of 5 kilometers which is equal to 3.1 miles.

  8. Typically 5-6 miles a day.

  9. meh i was a sprinter. nowdays i run like 2 miles on the treadmill.

  10. That's overkill lol. I run 4 days a week for about 3 miles.

  11. I also just started running again after being away from it for while now that I might actually make it in the military. right now im running 2 miles a day every other day. But I know I can bump it up soon. currently Im going to keep running 2 miles and move up to running every day and work up speed before working up distance.

  12. Uh, yeah, my lungs are OVERkilling yours because your lung capacity is a 16th of mine.

  13. I used to run everyday until I realized that it just it makes you more prone to injury lol you're a fucking retard if you think your lung capacity is any bigger than any other seasoned runners.

  14. No need to get so hostile over who runs more guy, you don't see me swearing at you..... you're on an internet board, stop pretending to be tough..

Anyway I think running for 10 years makes me a "seasoned runner". And the 5-6 miles hasn't hurt me once.... never had an injury in my life, not 1 broken bone.

......man i feel so tough for proving myself to some random guy sitting behind a computer screen on a message board

  15. I'm completely calm but you can't just say bullshit and not get called out on it, welcome to the internet.

  16. Now you're calm after I call you out... how am I talking bullshit? Everyone has a problem with everyone on the internet, it's like i can never just SAY something and not get some kind of criticism from someone no matter how insignificant it is.

  17. No I was calm before too lol :D the bullshit was saying your lung capacity is larger than any other seasoned runner...Sure it may be bigger than sedentary people's but not people who actively run as well.

  18. Yesss let's spend the next 2 pages dissecting the veiled gay intentions behind Faded's original post or whatever the fuck you guys are doing.

Seriously no one gives a fuck.

  19. Xenith relax bro I'm not trying to argue here.

Ok faded I will not deny that was complete bullshit, that was just me being high and a cocky asshole..... I will definitely admit I have no basis that my lung capacity is better that everyone else's, cuz come on now......... But I will say it's definitely better than probably everyone I know personally. Because they just sit around all day anyway.

  20. 5-7 miles per day which works out to about 9-11 kilometers
