I have been dying to try C99 but sources seem to be drying up quick, Thankfully, a good friend of mine made some F3's and gave me some. Being partial to the Sativa buzz, I also decided to try Satori at 70 some days flowering which is still managable. Perhaps I will creep ever closer to growing Neville's haze but in terms of flower time 100+ days almost seems more like raising an animal than a plant; rumour has it there is some sort of Triffid mind thing with those too but my initial plan would be to setup alot of mirrors to reflect me as decoys when I water her. Perhaps someday. Germination: I started with 5 of each. 3 of the C99's sprouted in under 24 hours with the last 2 popping up the following day. 2 of the Satoris popped up in 3 days and a third took 5 days. It now looks like after a week the last 2 Satoris are stillborn. Most likely a heating mat would help but I am happy with 3 though the last is way behind. I use Fox farm with worm castings and perlite. The best 2 of each will go into 4 gallon pots this week under a 400w MH. The remainder will go into smaller pots around the perimeter. Pic 1: Class portrait with the Satoris in front. Pic 2: Yeah, they look spindley. I'll repot them deeper. Pic 3: I seem to have a mutant X-plant C99. Pic 4: The Satori Runtling; seems happy though. Pic 5: Say hello to Cairo, a silver Egyptian Mau.
Hi Eldust: He has big attitude too; a great stoner companion who makes my friends laugh in amazement as he likes to play fetch. As for the plants. nothing unexpected going on. They all doubled in size and I was alittle late in transplanting but there are all in their final homes till sexing. The two fastest to pop and show vigor are in 4 gal. pots with the rest in 1.5 gal. pots. Pic 1: All before repotting with the C99 in the back and the Satori in front. Pic 2: The tops to show the increase in size from one week. Pic 3: My 'box' with the new homes ready for transplant. Pic 4: All nestled in their new homes with the Satori in the middle row. That's all for now... time for some AK99 ice hash
just love to see people transplant on time Looking good Lucian.. have some C99 seeds here for a while now havent popped them yet.
Hi DierWolf, yeah. they all made it through transplant but there is alittle stunting going on due to some root loss. Laziness: the stoner nemesis. I was still suprised when I lifted the 8 oz cups from the dirt to find acorn sized knots of root had found and grown through the few small holes in the bottom. I should have known better already know my max yield will be diminished. Not much else going on really. We are into just waiting while they grow through veg and increase in size. I plant on doing LST later this week. I mention it now so I won't get lazy and put it off. Pic 1: Group shot. Last week, 3 bladed leaves were arriving. Now, they are deploying their 7 bladed solar panels. Pic 2: Best looking C99 so far, if one in the big pots is male, this one will be xplanted for flowering. Pic 3: Best looking Satori so far. Pic 4: Another group shot more from the tops. The Satori is in the middle row. The runt on the right has caught up to the other two and is passing the one on the left which is stunting to due to root loss. Pic 5: Another cat shot of my two demons. See you next week with LST shots.
Whats up my friend... looking good, for me i have 3 white rhino and one bella donna female growing from 12 seeds i grew..i did 3 c-99 and all were male but thats my bad for planting jut 3...so i took some cutting and im still crossing my fingers on them rooting.... Cant wait till i have a computer again have lots of pics.... later....
Your cats have a little ying and yang action giong on. I'm excited to see your LST since it was you who first suggested it to me (I think). I feel wierd posting along side of all you experienced growers, oh well. Glad I found your thread mate . I'll be pulling up a stool and a pointy cap if you don't mind.
im not sure what i like more, the fact that you are growin C99, or the kickin cats youve got. ive got 2, both "tuxedos", ill get a good pic of the more visually appealing one, but the other ones cool too, do your cats like your plants? ive been trying to get ahold of some c99, or c99xanything seeds, but im sketched about ordering online cause im in the states... how much do those cats cost???
WAZZup Green!! you been gone a while... welcome back. Lucian, exactly how do you loose roots when you transplant? when i transplant i turn my cup/pot upside down (before watering) press the bottom and it all comes out in a nice compact root ball (soil shaped like pot) i never have transplant shock, just wondering why it seems to be such a problem for alot of people. But they are looking good Postman yes i know, i will get to them having way to much fun with my own strain at the moment.
just put 2 grapefruit/n.lights fem seeds to germ. They r 75% C99. 8 wk flower. today will start a 15WK strain.....zamal/skunk- her name just came to me...Calgon!
Alice in Chains (A lost Brady Bunch episode) or LST begins. Thanks Mister Postman, I'll leave a special satchel for you in my mailbox for Xmas SOG: Hey Stranger! Always great to see you drop by, hope you get yourself back online soon. As for cloning, My AK99 didn't take just sitting in shot glasses of water so I picked up a gallon sized tub with cover from the dollar store, a fishtank pump, and this: http://www.amazonmoosey.com/tek9.asp...cific=jqkninf4 It made ALL the difference with my clones *nods* Hi Y&S: Glad you could make it I am not that experienced, this is only my sixth grow myself so post away! Hi DeafingS, Yeah, I'm psyched up over growing C99. I grew some AK99 before and loved the results. Joey Weed is the breeder and he also makes C99 F2's as well. As for th cats, they go for $400-600. Hi DierWolf: In the pics in my first post, see how I set all the styrofoam cups ontop of one pot of dirt? I was a few days late and when I lifted the cups, root had already found the drain holes in the cups and had grown acorn sized clusters into the dirt which got ripped when I lifted the cup. So...the obvious cause is grower error due to stoner laziness. Well, onto the pics... Pic 1: Group shot of tops before LST. Pic 2: Group shot showing more of a side view. Pic 3: LST on C99-1. I just tie an anchor string around the base to keep the pressure from bending off the roots and then slowly pull the plant over in the opposite direction. Pic 4: LST on C99-2 which is in one of the smaller pots. Pic 5: LST on the other small pot C99's. I left the last C99 alone for a few days to get alittle more height. She'll be tied down soon enough.
...Continued... Pic 4: Group shot of LST. Satori is in the middle row. I only LST'd the middle one for now, the others will be done when they are slightly bigger. The un-LST'd C99 is in the front right. Pic 5: Crappy phone pic of Cairo playing fetch with me.
It is 24 hours later and all the plants have righted themselves. This is where the low stress part comes in. Pic 1: All the plants as this greeted me this morning. They recover from lst quick. Pic 2: Found this digital temp and humidity meter at Sprawlmart this morning for $6.50 Pic 3: Here is a C99 after recovering from yesterday's bending. Pic 4: I moved the string on the top up to the next higher set of branches and pulled it down some more. Slow and gradual bending is the idea
Merry Christmas to all! Hope Santa brought the Good bud Well, This is the boring part for me, just letting them bush up in the final weeks of Veg. They all look fine and I'll probably start flowering next weekend. It really depends on how big they get this upcoming week. Ciao for now!
Looking good.. .understand now how you lost roots... i got he c99's off someone but only 5 seeds, can someone stear me in the right direction to order some??? SOG I got some Belledona from a good friend of ours on here, dropped one seed (namely because it doesnt matter if its male or female as i will be crossing it with something) so far "its" looking male, which is fine with me
Greetings All! Well, I had to go away for 6 days so watered and hoped for the best on my return. Pic 1: Literally a minute after I walked in the door. Not a good pic but the last days of vegging isn't as fun as the last days of flowering , they needed some water immediately and two days later (today), they have already shot up another 5 inches so tinight they start flowering. Pic 2: Cairo doin his push-me-pull-you imitation while sleeping. Where is his head??? Hi DW: I am betting you will have great success with upcoming harvest. I have to get a mom selection going again for clones.
Looking simply beautiful, and sometimes its a good thing to make them suffer for water, roots really grow fast when searching for it, and boy when it gets it things really take off.
