Rubbing Ashes into your skin

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by finshaggy, Oct 7, 2012.

  1. In India, Ganja Guru's rub ashes into their skin. Always. Like, they look like they're covered in it.
    Search "Sadhu Naga" images.

Opinions on benefits of doing this, or what it could harm?

  2. You would reak. So bad.

  3. those dudes look like a bunch of hipsters

  4. eww nigguh

  5. ugh imagine the smell of them, like big walking ash trays

  6. I might be wrong but I vaguely remember reading somewhere that Rastafarians rub the ashes into their skin or eat them, they see cannabis as a deeply spiritual plant and believe doing so brings them closer to nature or something along those lines.

I don't think there are actually any proven benefits of doing this, nor will it cause any harm. It's to do with their beliefs.

Ash is good for you... absorbs toxins... purifies.. All that jazz. Some people even brush there teeth with wood ash (mixed with other stuff like strawberry's).. As for rubbing it on the skin? Idk. Technically it does absorb odors. And ash itself, pure ash, is odorless. so they wouldn't necessarily smell... but then again, if they smoke enough to have enough ash to cover themselves, i guarantee they reek of weed which isn't so much of a bad thing...

  8. I rubbed ganja ash on myself last night. My mom used to always rub her cigarette ash's on my bug bites as a child, because it stops it from itching. So now that I'm older and don't smoke cigarettes I do it with my own ashes haha.
