My container has the dimension of 27.75 inches length x 19.75 inches width x 18.25 inches height. Its a rubbermaid container. Im thinking of getting two of them and cutting out the bottom of the second one and taping it to the top of the other one. So that my height then becomes 36.50 inches, giving my plants more room. I would have 2-4 growing in one container, I would have the 23 watt CFLs(how many?) attached at the very top (pointing down?or sideways?) I would have the inside painted with mylar. It would be soil based or nute based? what do you recommend? a fan of course. Would this be a good first grow? Plz guys I need ur help! Basically my questions are what should my light schedule be? Soil? Or nutes? How many 23 watt CFLS? Should they be pointing down (decreasing plant height) or sideways(having more height)? How often should I water? And any other advice. I would really appreciate your help guys. PLZ/THANKS.
light schedule for veg should either be 24/0 or 18/6 u could go lower but i wouldn't really recommend it unless you wanted to slowly go into flowering. why dont you use soil and nutes? you wont get far with just soil and if your not using soil and just nutes, then u must be doing hydroponics. if your doing soil make sure PH is 7 and hydro is abouty 5.8-6.2. i highly recommend getting a PH tester, you don't need an expensive one, you can get a decent one that does the trick for about $10-20 just make sure u get the right soil, and not some shit from home depot. check your nearest hydroponics store, id recommend roots organic, FFOF, happy frog etc. usually though these soils have enough nutes for about the 1st month of veg. don't know how many CFLs you should use, the more the better, since CFLS are really weak and dont generate that many lumens, however you gotta watch out for heat, if you use alot, but only if you use alot, make sure bulbs are about 4 inches from the plant, to avoid heat stress, and stretching. you should have CFLS surrounding your plant, would just make it that much better. you should water every other day. example, monday, then wednesday, then friday, then sunday and so forth, but always check your soil, and only water when soil is dry, you don't wanna overwater, it will stunt growth for a day or so, and your plants will droop heavily. i think i answered your questions, if you have any more let me know. happy growing -K
