First time using an HID fixture. I usually flower under t5, have for the past year or two quite succesfully. However i got lazy this time around and just let my plants get too damned big in veg, oh well, i had to solve that problem one way or another. This journal is how i solved that problem :3 Special queen #1 on the left, Dutch Kush on the right, no clue how long i vegged them, didnt keep track, what i do know is as of right now they are 11 days into 12/12.. Expecting 2-3 ounces from each plant, had i known originally id be moving to a single bulb fixture i would have trained them a little differently, should be ok though. Ive run both these strains before and am quite confident i can pull off some very pleasing smoke this round. Special queen is a clone, Dutch Kush is from seed. First Pic is my setup as it looked yesterday, and last pic is the Special Queen showing off why i love her (She is a 7 week sativa dom....yup )
Evened up the canopy and added a 3rd plant, is a fairly young Pineapple Purple Skunk, is a 12 week strain so i went ahead and tossed it in, will only be half done when the other two finish anyway lol

Definitely not the same now, but glad it's still here... I think I was just about to turn 21 when I signed up for this account, but I believe I posted under a different name before that. I had filled up my 2 bedroom apartment with plants and was constantly on here reading. I took a long hiatus but recently started growing again. It's always sad to see cool contributors on here and then see that they haven't been online since 2014 or something. I'm planning on sticking around here to keep learning and maybe sharing some things as I learn along the way. Good luck with your grow man!
How big is your HID light? I'm running a 600 watt in a 4x4 tent at the moment and already wanting to upgrade to a 1000 watt... There's so many options for lighting nowadays. The 315 LEC looks pretty slick but gotta drop 500
400 watts HPS , nothing fancy, just a $100 digital ballast lol this is just me, but if i had $500 to spend on lighting, id be looking at some LEDs myself something with CREE LED's specifically, the thought of 3g/watt just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside
Same here wrt to the cree leds.. I found this company called Timber that sells kits so there is a lot less work you have to do, but there's still some unknowns and it is a little pricey. Nonetheless I think after a few harvests under my current set up I will try to build one. Timber Grow Lights My 600 watt is nothing fancy either, I actually got the whole kit including ballast hood for under $100. Keep in touch man! I'll keep an eye on your grow.

Figured i might as well show off what i got going on in the veg box upstairs to replace these when they come through. This is what i did this afternoon, did some training on my vegging plant. This is my own F1 cross, is Special Queen #1 x Seedsman Original Afghani #1, this one is from seed put has preflowered many times over female, she is about 3 months old from seed, and currently in a 4 gallon plastic tub She looked like this this morning (photo outside the veg box of course I did a LOT of major Super Cropping and some LST as well as pruning, and as of right now, she looks like this Her node spacing is pretty damned good for a 100% warm white CFL vegged plant imho Am planning on my next run under the HPS being ONLY this one plant, and i will be shooting for a Half Pound or MORE preferably
Day 17 of 12/12 snapped some pics in good lighting today,. even though it was with a shitty cell phone. Something tells me this particular Dutch Kush is going to be an early finishing phenotype. A few early red hairs, but thats just from heat, and some early signs of light bleaching,maybe 8-10 inches was a little close lol. backed the light off to about 12 inches, but she seems to be progressing really fast. Cant wait to sample her, such a beautiful strain, one of the prettiest plants ive had the pleasure of running. And the special queen, looking likeshell be dank and yeildy like usual Also just popped 3 Animal Cookies x God Bud seeds, just got them into some soilto sprout
Day 25 of 12/12 Coming along VERY nicely, cant wait to see how big these buds are at the end :0 Dutch Kush, still very difficult to get good pics of, so bushy Special Queen .Theplant in the back right is a Dr.Krippling Incredible Bulk, vegged for a month, currently 12 days into 12/12 And this one is a MTG seedsPineapple Purple Skunk. Is a very slow, very retarded plant, it fasciated early on at the third node so i topped it to stop it, and i got like 5 tops fromthat one node, and every singletop is a different phenotype it looks like, so essentially this plant is literally a Chimera

So...my powers been out half the day now for no apparent reason. Only an hour after the lights came on. Got about 45 mins of light left before it gets dark but 6 more hours of lights on. Preying it comes back on soon. Only had three hours worth of battery for backup lights and that was over two hours ago EDIT......as one would expect, the power came back on within seconds of me submitting this post....all is well in lala's garden once again :3 I feel like treating myself to a 1300 watt generator this christmas might be a good idea
Got a sample of some Dutch Kush from a friend of mine that got a clone off my plant a few months ago while it was still fairly young, was put straight into 12/12 and yeilded about 18 grams. this is 1.5 grams of that 18. Nice and dank, and density is unreal, literally rock hard. could definately use a longer cure but i dont care, im dry atm lol, was LED grown (Mars 300) with nothing but compost teas, no extra nutrients from bottles or anything. Mines frostier, but his is denser lol (so far from what i can tell anyway) Id take pictures of his garden for the thread but he refuses to allow that, and that's his choice and i will respect that (a good choice for obvious reasons living in a non-medical non-recreational state) Also came home from work to the big cola on the special queen flopped over into the middle of the incredible bulk so i stood it up with a bamboo stick. In hindsite i probably should have done this sooner, but oh well, its done now.
