So i'm in quite the pickle, about a year ago my friend broke the lip off my low profile downstem in my WS babybitch trying to pry it out, it must of been stuck or something. But now I'm left with a shitty ass looking downstem that is barely air tight, (it is airtight but you can tell SOME air is getting through). Does anyone have any ideas on how I could get this out? Or am i gonna have to just deal with it like I have been since it still works, its just looks so haggard and im sick of it lol. Any help would be awesome blades,
Your best bet is going to be to try and chip it out with a knife. I would tap around the joint with a wooden spoon, and run it under some hot water to expand the glass. Then take the knife and start chipping pieces out. There is always a risk it may break, so proceed with caution.

Yeah dude, this happened to me too... But here's what I did: I put it in the freezer for about an hour, took it out, slowly pushed out with a knife & paper towel. Worked like a charm for me, you just have to wait for some of the frost to turn into liquid, then it will slide right out.
Have you tried a wire coat hanger? Bend it into a U shape on the end, small enough that you can fit it all the way to the bottom of the downstem, hook it around the end, and pull. Worth a try.
Definitely royally fucked I agree with chipping at it LIGHTLY you'll have glass everywhere to clean but there is chance you could break the bong itself, so be very careful before you go into it maybe one of those few things you don't do stoned
Yeah, I would try every other possible method before trying to chip away at it. Even doing it lightly, it's still going to push the downstem farther into the joint which has a damn decent chance of just breaking the entire joint.
Chipping was the only thing that broke the glass loose for me. I used a really dull knife, and held my piece with a towel.
i think everyone has had this happen to them lol, i had to chip mine out with one of those screwdrivers thats just a point at the end and a small hammer to chip away at it with
Id hit it with a torch for a min then maybe stick some needle nose pliers INTO the downsteam while its heated and open the pliers so youve got some pull and just... pull lol
get a popsicle stick and glue it to the inside of the down stem. wait for glue to dry and pull it out.
I'd try and clean it up with some ISO to get rid of any resin around it cause that'll make it stick to the glass as well.
Thanks for all the help blades! I think I will try the needle nose pliers idea both inside and out, then if that doesn't work I'll go onto trying to glue a popsicle stick in it and pulling, I can't remember if it's water locked or not, :S hopefully not haha. Then if all else fails it looks like imma chip dat bitch till she's out. Thanks again everyone!
Good luck man! what kind of downstem is it? if you really want it out JB Weld a stick or something thick enough to pull on to the inside of the downstem. It's a steel epoxy resin that shit is better than any glue.
