If I'm correct this is a way to edit a picture in photoshop to make real pictures looks animated (like in scanner darkly)... We'll my friend's birthday is coming up and i was wondering if anyone has the software if they could do it really quickly to a picture for him, considering his favorite movie is scanner darkly i think he'd really enjoy this... He's a younger than me just to let you know haha. Well heres the pic...
rotoscoping is a way of translating shapes over a series of frames it does not automate the creation of visual display styles. it won't help you on a single image. The best way to recapture the style of a scanner darkly is to draw over the image on seperate layers in photoshop yourself. I'm really busy right now so take a stab at it and if it doesn't go as well as you would like, I might be able to help you out on the technique in a day or two.
I'll try! Could I do it in Abode Illustrator because i just downloaded a trial.. The only problem is I have a laptop, and the only mouse i have is the laptop finger mouse! It might be kinda tricky..
To get the best effects drawing the image yourself, you should really use a WACOM or other tablet. Especially if you have skill with drawing to begin with. Take any advice Palmer gives you though, as he is extraordinarily talented with this art form. I've seen quite a bit of his work in this area, and I couldn't think of a better tutor for you. Here's an example for you...
