Noticed today that roots are growing out of the bottom of my smart pots. Is this normal???? Should I correct it or let it go??? Thanks all Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
If you do that, roots will continue to grow out of pot, is that okay? I grow in fabric pots too so curious myself. I had roots grow throug plastic pots as to why I use fabric now.
like pointswest said. get some air between the bottom of the pot and the floor. I've used cookie cooling racks and stuff like that. I try to use some sort of wire mesh or grate preferably something like plastic that won't rust. If roots are coming out of the bottom that just means there's moisture being trapped there. It's not a huge deal, but by getting the bottom some air circulation you'll help to dry out the soil/coco evenly instead of always having a wet lump at the bottom. I've sliced the roots off with a creditcard before too.
