Root bound in autopots?

Discussion in 'Coco Coir' started by ismellchicken, Jul 14, 2017.

  1. What's happenin guys? I'm on day 32 of my first real grow. I'm using 3.9 gallon (15 litre) autopots with a coco/perlite medium (70/30 mix) and airdomes. I wasn't planning on flowering for at least 3 more weeks, but i'm wondering if waiting that long would make my plants root bound in these 15litre pots.
Also i was trying to find information on the difference in root growth in coco vs soil or autopots vs traditional pot, but have not come across anything. What do you guys think? I have been LSTing the shit out of these plants so im not sure how tall they would naturally be right now. Maybe a foot? Not sure. Any help is appreciated.

  3. I grow in coco/perlite or Tupur and purposely rootbound my plants. This way you can feed 2-3 times a day and get fast growth. I finish in one gallon pots with up to a 6 or 7 week veg from seed. Just finished a 550 gram harvest from a 5.5 month old specimen in 3.5 gallons.

  4. All the time is feed time with Autopots

  5. I've got a Zookies that I'm mainlining. It's in a 1gal air-pot. I was planning on transplanting it into a 3gal before flipping. Do you think keeping it in the 1gal would be better?

  6. If you can feed multiple times daily and send her to flower with less than 6 weeks veg, sure

  7. More than a 6 week veg....looking closer to 8-10. So I'll transplant it into the larger container. Thanks!
    Sorry for the thread hijack!
    Good luck!

  8. I’ll stuff 9-12 in my 4x4 with a 4 week veg in one gallons and feed twice a day. That’s for production runs and I’m simply making medicine now so I’m in 7 gallon smart pots of supersoil with mainlined indicas
