Been battling root aphids for a few grows now with little avail, I'm thinking of just killing the op for a few weeks and starting fresh! Is this extreme? I feel I can't beat these things and my fruit suffers, thinking of poor yields and power supply I just think shutting down and a heavy decon with bleach fresh paint and a whole fresh batch of ladies Is he only real way. Also have used botingaurd and a few others but was told botingaurd is the best (should be for cost) was doing 1tbs per gal.... Thoughts grasscity crew!
Greensense 5076184 Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade 10 lb BOOM....just sprinkle it over the dirt and work it into the top layer of soil. I now mix this into my soil when i get it ready for tansplant. I used to have root aphid and fungus knat problems like crazy and this shit completely knocked it out. Like ZERO bugs now. Just make sure you dont over do it because it tends to change the the ph of the soil. I would sprinkle 1/2 cup on top of the soil if your using a 5 gal container and you will be fine.
Flower everything out that you have. Treat it till you runout of shit and start over. I lost the battle first grow. Cost waaaaaasy more to treat it than it was worth. I do a bi weekly regiment to keep them away now that there gone. they are the WORST pest to deal with. I use botaniguard to keep them out, it doesn't harm my ladies at all. There only treated till I put them into flower just to be safe, some say mycotrol works better but I haven't tried that.
