Say you were growing in 5" x 5" round net pots for hydro. 2" x 2" rockwool cube buried in the pots with hydroton. tray is not filled with hydroton so they can be moved from room to room tray is 2' x 3'. The question is will the roots grow out and come through the sides and bottom of the pots and if they do is that bad. The plants are going to be grown to about 5' or so. Thanx
not too sure what exactly you mean, do you have any pictures of the setup? but if i understand correctly the root space is only going to be 5x5" right? if so that is not going to be enough root space for a plant.

I have a 600 watt mh and a 600 watt hps. mh for veg and clones hps for flower. I veg for 6-8 weeks and bud for 8 that is the plan anyway. ebb and flow system
even though 600 watt HPS are great, they're not going to penetrate through 5 feet of plant foliage. you should look into topping, LSTing, and scrog.
Yes I top the plants and even dabbel in supercropping. But my question is if the roots pertrude through the pots is that bad or not.
is the water going to be covered from light? will there ben an air stone in the water to get air to the roots? or is it a flood and drain? more information.
flood and drain but about 1 1/2" does not drain all the way. So the roots are actually underwater some roots come out the sides and are in the air
i still cant get a great mental picture. but so long as there not getting introduced to light, it sounds like it should be ok. why not just through some rock wool, or more hydroton in the tray?
