I was going to wait until my birthday, which is awesomely 420, for a half off sale but no one is really having one on roor. I live in US and was wondering if ROOR.de delivers to the US and if it is worth the buy? I'm a little worried about spending 400 on a piece that breaks before it is delivered to my door. Was thinking about the 5 mm black label icecatcher w. sandblasted pot leaf and crown on top for like 350. Are there any other places online to buy a good priced roor? I feel like all the ones in store aren't worth it...spending 450 and just getting a beaker bottom or 300 for a plain straight tube orange label.
I'd be more worried about it being seized in customs than breaking. That's been the only thing holding me back from ordering from EDIT.
No not worth it. if your looking to spend that much I would point you towards Illadelph, Toro, HVY, Sovereignty...ect.
I would go with ammarhio. check out ALT and you will have much better luck finding something you wanna spend 350$ on. or get a sub to boromarket or search around on etsy.
im not asking what the better deal is or what piece to get. my mind is set on getting a roor. What i am asking is "is it safe to have a roor shipper from roor.de to the us. will A) customs take it or B) it break along the way?
I've ordered from EDIT once and it showed up just fine. Was packed well but it was just a cheap 14mm slide. I bought my RooR many many years ago when Weedcity was selling them and they packed the bong in so much protective foam It took forever just to get it unwrapped. I would check out the forums an look for people that have recently bought from Edit and see about customs. I would not be worried about that tho.
I live in the UK and have used a certain well known online headshop to buy certain glass from them and it always turns up packaged well, including RooRs. Unfortunatley for you you live in the US so I would say the problem lies with customs seizing it. I know from an old forum that a lot of people who ordered glass had smashed boxes turn up (clearly not from just transport, more likely gettin purposely broken) or nothing turning up at all. RooR.de are worth it, lovely glass, I got mine from the shop in Amsterdam. I have the 3.2 little sista extended version of my avatar pic but I know the one you're thinking about and it is a nice piece, seen it in person. If your heart is set on RooR dont let any of the haters put you off.
What are you basing this on? If you want a straight Roor make the best quality piece you can find. Toro and Sovereignty might make better functioning pieces but HVY and Illy aren't even the same league.
yeah...but thats not for me at all. if anything i would get something with a tree perc and splash guard & thats about it. nowadays they've got carbon filters, ratchet and swiss percs, all kinds of crazy inline this and that. roor to pipes is like american muscle to cards
My suggestion was made with consideration given to ease of access. The Roor.de pieces are too much pf a hassle to get over here in the US. There are simply so many more choices out there whicha are not name brand. Local blowers can make glass tubes nicer than Roor. Roor isnt anything special buddy. Its just a name. Its not like your comparing a Mercedes to a Kia either. There is simply too much technology that is available to a mass of glass blowers, that this technology can be easily duplicated and improved upon. Just my 2 c. Im not arguing or suggesting one thing over an other. just putting information out there.
The reason Roor is so special is because they were the FIRST company to incorporate scientific glass on glass joints, into bongs. Not to mention they were the first company to create a GonG diffusers. Your getting a hell of alot of basic quality out of Roor, that for sure. But the price is so hefty because of the history and pride that name on the tube has behind it.
i've heard twice from people i know, that e.d.i.t. is the way to go, but i have never met anyone who ordered straight from roor.de i'd like to know how it goes so i can put mine in for one
im pretty sure that you cant order direct from roor.de unless your having something specifically made for you. I may be wrong though....
the fact they let you customize your shit is baller shit. i'd like to get a rasta label 7mm. that shit is non-existent in us
i was thinking of ordering that same one or the one with the red ice notches from edit but still hesitant..& roor.de does make them to order..you can customize them however you like.
Come on man you also still use a Nokia 3310 for that reason ? Why would you get a tree percolator and splash guard but not a gridded stemline.. But it's your decision of course and I bet your future RooR will rip like a beast nonetheless!
