Roor Bong -- Assuming it's fake? Please advise.

Discussion in 'Bongs, Dab Rigs, Bubblers, Water Pipes' started by nyslick13, Feb 10, 2011.

  1. Anyone know a bunch about ROOR bongs? I wanted one for a long time, but never got one since I have a nice collection already. I walked into a local convenience store with a small supply of pieces yesterday and found a ROOR labeled bong for $300. I negotiated down and unbelievably got it for $125 cash, the owner and his son run the store, the sun does the smoking side and the father does the store, but the father didnt seem to know what it was worth and gave it to me for $125. I know this is insanely low, so I assume it's fake. It has to be right? I took a few rips from it and wow, amazing quality hits. Also, the welds and the lines are perfect. It's either the best fake i've ever seen or it's real.

Can anyone advise? I'm uploading oodles of pictures for reference. Fake or real doesnt matter to me for that price and the quality of the piece, just need to know for sure cause it's driving me crazy.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. It is 100% fake. One of the new gen copies of German customs.

  3. It's fake, but that's a decent price for even a fake.
I paid $140 for a fake roor straight tube.
sounds like you got a deal, I wouldn't care if it was fake or not

  4. How can you tell? Please explain. I was 90 percent sure it was fake but its still a quality piece. One of the best I've own. Weird cause fakes are usually shotty.

  5. Yer looking at the Ice notches ID have to agree very fake looking. Also the join for the downpipe bulges way too much. Sorry man, that's gotta suck

  6. I wouldn't mind if all of the fake ROORs put the real ROOR out of business, someone needs to punish them for being so generic and easily copyable.

  7. I'm happy with it. It was $125 and hits like a real roor, I've hit plenty of them.. I knew going into it I had about a 5 percent chance of it being real, just wanted to figure out the reasons and how to tell, the ice catchers look almost the same. Any other specific ways to tell on my bong? Not roors in general, just mine please and thank you

  8. Thats still a sick ass bong for 125 bucks fake or not i'd pay that for that bong

  9. it's not like a real and a fake are going to hit differently, they are designed exactly the same.

If it sound sketchy, it probably is. Who cares about names though? Its a placebo effect.

For $125, its a good buy.

  11. I wouldn't mind if all of the fake (insert brand name of ANYTHING e.g. shoes, clothes, electronic goods, designer item)s put the real (insert brand name) out of business, someone needs to punish them for being so generic and easily copyable

    ..........idiot.

  12. When you pull a straight tube and charge 300 bucks for it, they deserve to be copied. Same as Nike or any other overpriced PIECE OF SHIT.

  13. If your the at the top end of the business you will always have people copying your work it is that simple, and as you just said yourself Nike put up with this every day. And why??? Oh because its probably in the top 2 most recognisable brands in the world. So what if RooR are the Nike of the bong world, it just shows how good it is to own an original. If RooR weren't worth it then people wouldn't make fakes to try and sell on at a profit.

Yes there is other glass out there for a lot cheaper, but some people do pay for the brand, BECAUSE WE CAN AND WILL. I know when I see RooR I'm not gonna get anything but perfection on my GoG joints

(really not wanting to sound like someone who kisses RooR's ass but sick of people saying this)

  14. I'm just saying, buy real high end from cats that are pushing the limit, not slothful fatcats cashing in on a reputation for not being jank and pretty much nothing else.

  15. This just makes you sound like you're ten years old.

  16. sick pickup for the price man.

even if its fake any normal joe wouldnt no the difference

  17. How does telling the truth make me sound like a ten year old?

Saying that some company deserve to be ruined by counterfeiters because they're a big recognisable brand is just the droolings of some wannabe hippy who hasnt got a clue.

Im pretty sure 80% of hand bags (purses) you see women walking round with are fakes, but you dont see people in the fashion world slating Gucci and Louis Vitton for being easily copyable fat cat slobs. Its a brand and thats how they make things. If you dont like it dont buy it, its that simple.

  18. I should have been more specific. I was talking about when you called him an idiot.

  19. Nobody can deny ROOR is sitting on their hands when the last and greatest thing they came out with was a "staggered" 4 arm tree perc. At every corner there's a higher quality offering from another company (HVY comes to mind for simpler designs) for less money. For the same amount of money there are MUCH better designs like SG, TORO, SYN, etc.

ROOR needs to step up its game or die. Every fake bought is a little less cash in their wallets, that isn't enough though. People need to wake up and start buying nicer tubes from the true high end companies instead of buying overpriced ROORs. If ROOR actually responds and adjusts their prices and starts making less generic shit then that'll be great. If not I hope nobody ever buys another ROOR again.
