This is good. I am very against prescribing myself to a specific political affiliation but my opinion of the republican party in the past few years has been VERY unsavory. That's a shame because there are a lot of the party's ideals that I do in fact agree with. Maybe this is signaling a change in the republican party that most people want to return to the core values of the party? I might be making wild speculations, but a boy can dream. Edit: Of course Ron Paul is a libertarian, so it's not EXACTLY back to the core values of the party, but the implied benefit here (implied because this was posted in the "legalization and activism" section) is that libertarians are in favor of legalizing drugs. So for us tokers, it can only help to have a proponent for legalization (or at least decriminalization) highly regarded in both parties.
I know, I'm sorry I definitely mistyped in that first post. I meant not that he was a libertarian but that he has some libertarian ideals- mentioned in the article. My mistake that would confuse me too
Ron Paul is too old, and the GOP wont support him in the end. Tom Tancredo makes more sense. We should be supporting him. He supports legalization and is conservative enough in other areas that he could win the nomination. If he was president it would help the legalization movement greatly. There would be far less opposition to legalization with a Republican president who supported it, dont you think?
The Nazi's are hiding behind Ron Paul's skirts, I predicted this in November of 2008, that the disgraced party would find the one man who they should have listened to the whole time, and try to act as if they will follow him now. It is only an act. The Republicans shut his microphone off at the debates. They will do it again, without hesitating. They still have Big Dick Cheney running things, and a more Ron Paul hating motherfucker there isn't in America, than Big Dick Cheney. Sorry Ron Paul fans, he is a Red Herring for the Nazi's. How do I know? The bible belt tells me so.
how come nobody has mentioned Gary Johnson? Former 2 term Gov. of New Mexico. Johnson for America -- Gary Johnson for President 2012 He is my front runner. A republican, and supports legalizing cannabis in the US and understands that the move is a "No Brainer"
I seriously hope you're wrong about Dick Cheney running things. FFS, that guy deserves be on trial for war crimes as he admitted to ordering the use of torture.
Would you stop with the Nazi bullshit. It is a disgrace, and trivializes the millions who died in WWII and in the death camps. And if you think Gitmo and Abu Ghraib are as bad as Auschwitz, re take all of your high school history classes, and re look at the news.
yeah calling your political opponents Nazis FTL pretty much the status quo for idiots like rush limbaugh and glen beck
Actually, white supremacists did support Ron Paul. (I don't hold it against Ron Paul, I want him to be president), but check out this site: Stormfront - White Nationalist Community Do a search for "Ron Paul", and there will be hundreds of results. So yes, Neo-Nazis, Skinheads, Bigots, racists, and white supremacists did support his campaign. (Note: I am NOT calling Ron Paul a racist in anyway whatsoever, but merely acknowledging the fact that they did support his candidacy.
