His ideas are very dream like. They are EXACTALLY what American citizens want. What is not taken into account is the magnitutde of change that will happen. His ideas are very radical in a sense. Has he really thought things through?...he just preechs these great ideas with no plan what-so-ever. Has he taken the consequences into account? I just dont know about this guy yet. He needs to do a major cost-benefit-consequence analysis on these ideas of his
He has written a few books on monetary policy and ran for president back in the 70's. He been in congress for over 10 years and hasnt changed his ideas since then. His ideas are radical but doable just read more about him and you'll find that to be true.
I'm totally for Ron Paul and I copied and pasted your info to an e-mail and sent it to everyone on my contact list. I hope everyone else who reads this does the same.
Nice! Donate if you can spare the money. You will be rewarded in the long run if he wins. Be a part of this world record breaking donation!
I wish I could do this. I spent 25 bucks last week to buy a shirt and 2 stickers from him and I never stop talking about him. Question, where does he say he is going to "- End "birthright" citizenship for illegal aliens." That would involve amending the Constitution wouldn't it? He's pretty against that.
Ive been following RP for awhile, Ive never once heard him say he'd end the war on drugs. I think people get confused between canidates who support medical marijuana and hemp farming and a canidate who wants to end the war on drugs. I have yet to hear a canidate say such a thing, and wisely.
On one of the official pamphlet's it said that but i haven't really looked into that but if its not approved by the constitution then he wont do it.
wow, I think that just made me lose support for him. I dont think all drugs should be legalized, plain and simple. I do support legalization of marijuana, but there is proof that marijuana is relatively harmless.. the same can not be said for meth, coke, heroin, ect.
Of course they aren't as safe but if you support prohibition then you support violence and gangs and the further decline of those drug addicts because they are afraid to get help. Alcohol prohibition is a prime example. Alcohol was legal and everything was fine, but then once it was illegal guess what?! You had gangs and such transporting and producing it. The demand never went down but the supply did. The government doesn't need to play the father figure in my life. As for Ron Paul, his ideas aren't radical, they are the way things are SUPPOSE to be. The bull shit ideas of todays current policy are the radical ideas.
Alright, but why should the government tell me what I can and can't put into my body? Don't you believe in civil liberties? The War On Drugs treats drug users as CRIMINALS. Why aren't we locking up alcoholics? They are a danger to society, quick! Ron Paul wants to address the issue of drug addiction as an ILLNESS rather than a CRIME. Why should I waste my money locking up people who are addicted to drugs when they can be getting TREATED for their problem instead of getting out of jail and doing the same fucking shit. I forgot, drugs are taboo and society would be ruined if there was no laws against them! (Considering how many drug users and addicts there are in the US, yes I'm being sarcastic)
its also about the consequences of allowing stupid people to do whatever they want. while marijuana is a very non violent drug, other drugs arent all the same. and while there are responsible drug users, there are also people who arent responsible with their use. meth is already big enough a problem without it being legal... if it was more readily available and cheaper, i think our nation would be screwed. Think about it, everyone knows people who do drugs that shouldnt.. think if that person was able to get as much as they wanted. and other people like them. I think legalization of harder drugs, ones with much higher rates of getting addicted, would just be bad news. while it would lower the number of people in jail and would make drugs cheaper, which is good.. I think people who do coke binges, freak out and rob someone need to be in jail, but thats me.
Im a firm believer in freedom and civil liberaties.. but you also have to be realistic, this is 2007. for every 100 responsible users, there will be 1 user who ruins it for everyone, thats how society works. think of all the drunk driving problems we have. when you legalize drugs you are just going to increase the problem of innocent people getting killed because people being impaired. Im a firm believer in the fact that people should be able to do whatever they want with their bodies, but then step back and ask yourself, with all the people you know.. is that really what is best? i mean, we can still get our drugs, no1 fucks with me, ive been smoking weed for 3-4 years and do plenty of other drugs and I have never been fucked with when I use responsible drug use practices. I think you have to be acting irresponsibly for anyone to notice.
point taken, but what do you suggest they do? Continuing to fight this is a failing proposition. Its a huge waste of tax dollars, people should just be trusted to do whatever. Neither you nor i have the right to say that a certain person isnt smart enough to use a drug. It's everyone right to put whatever they wish into their bodys, and not a single person should be able to do anything about it. Thats how i feel a bout it. Maybe we can build some kind of thing for these people where they can safely use this drug. Also instead of building jails and throwing these addicts into cells we will start up rehab programs that these sick people can attend. Its just a different way of medicating a sick population imo. Also meth is no longer a problem, its evolved into a epidemic. The sad thing is prohibition will never be able to fix this problem.
No matter who actually wins this coming election you will never see a pull out of the middle east. We are too dependent on foreign oil. Just check this out http://forum.grasscity.com/general/184785-peak-oil-life-after-oil-crash.html and you will understand that no matter what Democrat, Republican, Independent...our government will not pull out because otherwise our economy will crash sooner than later (it will eventually happen (the global economy will crash)) If you ever hear a politician saying that they will pull out don't believe them cause its not going to happen. But anyways Im voting for ron pau i do believe. I like his stance on a lot of things.
man, honestly, half the time its not even the drug use thats the problem with people in jail. its what they do on the drug, they end up hitting their spouses and getting domestic violence charges.. they end up robbing someone or stealing cars. I honestly havent done research or anything but id be curious how many people in jail would be people who ONLY used a substance and didnt commit another crime. like i said before, ive been practicing responsible drug use for years and never have had a problem with police.
you should look into the hemp act with RP as a co-sponsor. hemp is a very valuable biomass fuel and a better source of ethanol than corn. we could potentially become self-sufficient.
