So I guess there’s a trend on TikTok where women are asking their male partners how often they think about the Roman Empire? Most of the women seem quite surprised or even laugh when they find out that men do think about the Roman Empire. I know I sure do. Curious what you all think? RD
I had a short thread about it a few days ago. Here's the best answer why that I've heard put into words so far. The link is to ABL, the first vid on this page is the one. He actually got it from the Hodge Twins on Twitter, or X, or whatever it is. Don't have it so can't link directly. But this guy sums it up in less than a minute and a half. And yeah I think of it daily, lol. Man Answers "How Often Do You Think Of The Roman Empire" TikTok Challenge Question Perfectly - Anthony Brian Logan
I think about the Roman Empire frequently, much like the bearded tik toker expressed, but more importantly to me when I think of the Roman Empire I think of how it fell, how it broke apart due to her hegemony and attempts at global dominance. Rome went broke due to ever growing colonialism and so too will the US because of its foreign policy and the near complete lack of a comprehensive US domestic policy. people are waking up but to what end will it make a difference. the US national train has left the station and apparently no one is tending to the engine. fate will have her way.
There was much to admire about the Roman Empire and I would think about it frequently. I’ve visited most countries in Europe and always make a point to try and visit whatever ruins, museums, etc… The Romans have influenced much of how we live today, from government to infrastructure to how society operates. I have a particular fondness for their road building skills. This probably sounds very odd but i have a collection of pictures I took of Roman roads in both bathrooms in my house. They deserve our unyielding gratitude for what they achieved. Omnes viae Romam ducunt All roads lead to Rome
The Roman Empire was pretty awesome, but there are multiple parallels between the fall of the Roman Empire and today's West. There was rampant moral degradation and all the blessings of vibrant diversity from the barbarians. Sound familiar? There are probably more. Let's hope we don't suffer the same fate. I've never been to Europe and almost certainly never will, but it would be amazing.
With all the rapefugees and gimmegrants invading, dark times are coming. These so-called refugees who are supposedly fleeing war, are 90% military age men. They're such big, brave men that they left all the women and children to fight the war. They're nothing but economic vampires coming to sponge off the insanely generous largesse that we in the West foolishly give to anyone who crosses our borders. It should be for citizens only. We're paying the invaders to colonize us. It's all very sad and stupid.
The following was written by Professor Alexander Tyler nearly 200 years ago while our 13 original colonies were still a part of Great Britain. In fact, Tyler was at the time writing about the fall of the Athenian Republic over 2,000 years earlier This is what he said and I'm quoting. “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy always followed by dictatorship. “The average age,” – says Tyler – “of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years.” For us, that was 1976. “These nations have progressed through the following sequence - from bondage to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependency, and from dependency back into bondage.” - JMAC
I’m fairly well medicated atm but I find your post pretty funny. the Roman emperors and governors fed the “unworthy” to the lions for entertainment. today the US emperors and governors gather around computer screens to watch realtime laser guided bombs find their way to an unsuspecting target 1000’s of miles away. same thing only different .
So back to the original post. What is the point of women asking men if they think about the Roman empire?
When I think of the Roman Empire I think it’s a great way to look at history. They say the United States is going to fail, the stages resemble the fall of Rome
Men seem to have the Roman Empire on their mind. Not in some romanticized way thinking of only roads and aqueducts. It is on their minds because they see commonalities between the fall of Rome and Western society today. Men have always been the protectors of their families, culture and society at large. This gives men a heightened sense of awareness to potential dangers vs. women. This experiment provides evidence of this. The point is men are recognizing the warning signs of a collapsing civilization. This common thought process within the minds of men is a warning in and of itself. RD
I was listening to Jimmy Carr on Rogan and he made some interesting points re the Roman Empire. Jimmy thinks they didn’t go away, they just rebranded as the Catholic Church.
I only think of the Roman Empire when something reminds me but I do remember comparing America with the Roman Empire when I was in Jr. High in the very early 1960s. I was wondering if America would also crumble away as it did. I don't get why some men would think of it daily. I think we have very little in common.
