So lately I've been rolling my own cigarettes (my friend left em a 200 gram bag of tobacco). I started out rolling them like hippy joints (just twisted at the ends and good to go) then moved on to adding a little card spacer in there. I got to thinking about filters on regular cigs and decided I'd make my own. So now when I roll one, I take my spacer, wrap it in kleenex (tissue for you Americans) then stick it in. I find I actually like it better than store bought cigs and it's dirt cheap. And my filter actually works pretty well. It's obviously not an inch of cotton rolled up tight, but it's still rather effective and cuts the harshness very well. Just thought I'd let you all know in case someone was thinking home rolled are too strong for them or worried about the lack of a filter.
They do sell loose filters for rolled cigarettes, but this is a great idea for the homemade filter. I will be trying this next time my cig-rolling friend stops by.
I'm too cheap to buy filters. If I'm going to the store, I'll just end up buying smokes.. but thanks anyways
you can buy filters for roll your own tobacco they cost about the same as papers and their pretty cheap
i agree wit above poster.... you csn get a bag of 100 for a dollar or so..... works much better and with a rollin machine you can have cigs that are just as tight and perfect as the real ones. Whatever you do.... you are still savin money
You're in North Bay (Where I'm from) so I think I have some good advice. Go to The Under Dog. In the display case across from the cash register they have these cigarette tubes (with filters attached) and you can get like 200 for $5 then they have this machine that you put a cigarette tube into then your tobacco and it inserts all the tobacco into the tube. I was going to buy it for joints until I found out that all of the tubes have filters attached.
the filters actually dont filter out the thc. my one friend who rolls his own cigarettes with one of those puts weed in it all the time and it works really well.
Filters collect resin, resin contains THC, therefore filters collect THC. I'm not saying they filter out all of the THC, but you're loosing some.
Actually it's called tissue. Kleenex is just a name brand of tissue. Just like how we call petroleum jelly Vaseline. Or cotton swabs as Q-Tips. And even adhesive bandages as Band-Aids. Just brand names. . . but even so, many Americans call them Kleenex too.
OP, spend a couple bucks and get some filters. There's no telling what kind of lotion and other shit that tissue has in it that is going into your lungs. Then again, I don't suppose it really matters seeing as you're smoking cigarettes.
