  4. Classic!!!!! I love the show!

Have you been to a screening with the apg?

  5. Its a great show, ive seen it a few times on DVD. I havent yet seen a live showing of it though. Dressing up, throwing toast the whole bit. I know there is a local show that comes on around midnight or so, I just havent had the druthers to go. It is laugh out loud funny as well - besides when else can you see susan surandon in her bra :D

  6. Yup, the Clinton Street Theater, longest running RHPS in America. Personally, I love the movie. If I wasn't such a bitch when it comes to being embarassed I'd be down to going.

  7. they used to play that at a movie theater i worked at. had a live team come in once or twice a month on friday and saturday at midnight to act it out while it went on. they were always messy, slutty, loud, and dirty. too many goths for my liking as well. i wasn't a big fan.

  8. lol I use to have a friend that would dress up when she would go and watch. She never acted it out with people, but I thought the dressing up was weird. I really like the movie, but I wouldn't get that carried away with it. :smoke:

  9. what's it about? i've only seen the cover of the dvd (movie poster)..

  10. gay goth shit...it's like a musical about freaks and losers obsessed with the graveyard or something.

  11. amazon has 320 reviews of it. I'll paste one good and one bad from the first page of reviews.
    Good:
Rocky Horror Picture Show is one of the most..interesting peices of art in our time. When I first saw this movie..I was pretty young, and I was shocked at what I was watching. It was..dirty. What this movie/musical is about is this couple of a small town decide to get married and they want to go see and tell the news to the professor they had togeather, but along the way they get stuck and they have to go to this dark gloomy castle where they find out a party is being held. You get to meet these very unique charaters that are from outerspace and one sweet transvestite who creats a extreamly hott creature. Whenever this musical is plaied in theaters people dress up as the charaters and sing and dance along. People with open minds should deffently see this movie. Some great and random music is in here...like the timewarp which you won't beable to stop dancing to for a while. --This text refers to the DVD edition.

    Bad:
Musicals make me ill, and this one will try to put you in touch with your feminine side if you know what I mean! You should all be ashamed! This movie is so bad that when they released it in movie theaters, people started making jokes at the movie, and started doing "slapstick" responses to the movie. Eventually, this became the norm, and fans started calling it the "rituals" that you performed during the movie when you went and seen it. For example, when a certain line in the movie was said, everyone in the theater would run to the back wall and hit it with their hands as fast as they could. These "rituals" got so out of hand, it eventually became a cult. You had to go through an initiation if it was your first time seeing the movie. For example, singing the Oscar Myer song while bending over. So there you have it. A movie that was so bad, people actually had to interact with it in hopes of making it better. LAME! NOT HORROR! NO GORE!

  12. goth my ass, its just a great musical. whats so goth about it, b/c i dont know

  13. Ive been meaning to go, but my procrasination is only fuelled by how I have heard they treat the people who go & dont dress up. I know im going to be recognized as a Rocky Horror virgin, but shit I dont want to be heckled or get shit thrown at me. Ill go eventually, but them folks is hardcore fans.

  14. I've never seen it, and have no plans to go see a live showing. I wouldn't mind giving the DVD a spin, though. There's a theatre where i go to school that has friday nite shows complete with full-dress reinactment, but after a few friends went and were called out as RHPS virgins, you can count me out.

  15. Its really a very off the wall movie. If you like really bizarre movies you'll love it. Its kinda like Punch Drunk Love with 1000x the drama and horrifically gay makeup. Most of the time I enjoy odd movies and this pretty much tops the highest oddity rating. It isn't scary unless you are just frightened by the costume design. lol Once you see it you'll know exactly what I mean! :)
