hello im am currently trying out hydroponics for the first time and will be growing the ice strain. I am use to growing in soil so im new with the hydroponics so my question is how does rockwool work,and after the seedlings have roots how do i transplant them from rockwool to the hydronton balls. thanks for the help
I've never used rockwool personally but from what I've read, the rockwool just acts as a grow medium for the roots to grow into. When you put the plant into the hydronton balls, you leave it in the rockwool cube. The the roots grow out of the rockwool into the balls. Thats how I've seen it done in most hydro setups, I'm sure there are other ways though, but it would seem dangerous to the plants root to try and take it out of the rockwool after it has rooted into it.
keep the plant in the rockwool until you see roots growing out of the bottom, then your gunna wanna place the cube at the bottom of the bucket so water gets to the roots, then you can surround the cube and plant with hydro pebbles and make sure your plant is exposed to some good light =D
