rockwool cubes!

Discussion in 'Hydroponic Growing' started by budly, Jul 12, 2011.

  1. getting a bubble bucket started, i am thinking of getting rockwool 75x75. but whats best the one with holes or with no holes??? i will be sprouting the seed in soil. oorrrr unless yo can sprout them in the rockwool???

  2. need to know asap! any advice is good on this topic!

  3. I use the 1"x1" cubes with the hole. Soak the Rockwool cubes in pHed water for 24hours then drop a germinated seed (using paper towel method) into the hole and wait. Keep the rockwool cubes moist not wet. Do not over water. Then when I have 1 set of true leaves I put the cube/seedling into hydroton and into the system.

    Hope that helps.

  4. ya rekon 75x75mm is overkill??? for a bubble bucket??

1"x1" I'm in us so however many mm are in 1"

  6. ok so what use are saying it really dosent matter ey!

  7. Lol, it really doesn't matter, its more dependent on your net pot size and how big your plants are, like if you are going from seed or starting from clones.

  8. most likely from seed man. and the net pots will b the 5 inch pots

Na I'm saying get the 1" ~25mm cubes. That's all you need. Just enough to hold them till you get them into the net pots.

  10. ok sweet. cheers guys!
