Rockwool Croutons Grow

Discussion in 'Hydroponic Grow Journals' started by carmel, Feb 24, 2022.

  1. Round 2 trying rockwool Croutons 2" cubes.

Currently I am rooting my clones. Created my own bubbler / aeroponic cloner.

The tips of the stems stay below the water line, ensuring they receive plenty of water (don't even need a dome). The rest of the stalk stay above water line and are constantly wet from the droplets formed from the air stones. Works fantastic.

Using GH 3 part at a 1:1:1 ratio. Keeping the solution at 0.2 Ec (7-6-11 NPK I believe?!)

    Ph anywhere from 5.5 - 6.5

Light intensity at 1/5 what I use at full Veg. 1/10 of a full blown Bloom.

MARS Hydro TSW 2000 together with a couple of UVB lights on a 3x3 grow tent.

Will select 8 plants for SOG in one week time.

Hope you guys enjoy and help out where I lack knowledge!

Pic #1 - 16 cutting in the bubbler - ignore the humidifier and the dead clones behind.

Pic #2 - rootlets starting to show up at day 5!

    Peace

  5. Update:

Plants burnt, rooted some more clones. Going for. Hugo blocks this time (croutons weren't holding enough water, especially the top half)

    Ec 0.5

Some damage was done to.the roots while transplanting. Still figuring out what's the best way to root and transfer to the blocks. This way is the best for root development speed, and clone vigour, but maybe not the best for rockwool

    Cheers. 20220315_165105.jpg 20220315_164348.jpg 20220316_160936.jpg

  6. Upped Ec to 0.65

Turned fan on at low setting

Removed the covers to stimulate roots to grow south and aid in drying out the blocks

Upped my lights intensity a bit

The plants in the peat & vermiculite mixture is in case my rockwool grow goes south

    Fingers crossed

    Peace

  8. Are you checking your pH?
How often do you change out your nutrient?

Need that info or we are just guessing!

  9. My pH is at 5.5

I flushed The blocks with ec 0.65 solution, pH 5.5 Thursday. I had to travel Friday and returned Monday, 4 days long. I imagine the pH probably raised a bit.

Today i flushed them with 0.8 ec again. PH 5.5, two hours after lights on.

Im planing on watering (flushing) them every other day from now on for a week or two, then start with the daily 100ml shots

  11. I run 2 plants in my bloom room. To be clear, not rockwool, I use hydroton. I have a 10 gallon reservoir and replace to nutrient solution every week.
How many gallons is your nutrient tank?
How many plants are you running.
    What is your water source?

  12. I'm trying to run 8 small single colas in a SOG setup.

12 gallon res, but I fill it about 10 gallons

I'm using local tap water, which comes with an eC of about 0.05

    And that's about it!

Will post another picture today to compare new growth.

    Cheers and thanks
