Rock hard nugs....

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by ShadowMonkey, Sep 5, 2020.

  1. What is the secret to getting your buds rock hard and dense in the final product?

  2. Environment and grow technique but most of all genetics.

  3. So you are talking seeds GrowMore? Any tips you have that could help refine an environment and technique? I am pretty confident about light, food, soil and just about everything related to the grow, and get descent product, but it is not rock hard, dense. Not fluffy. In between.

  4. Some genetics or strain type just do not get rock hard in density. I have also noticed photos tend to be more dense than autos. I have grown fast buds lsd 25 on three separate occasions and it's always fluffy. Potent and great smoke but fluffy. Perhaps it's just me but that is just what I have noticed. But, like other great growers who have posted before me: good lights, even ph, no stress, experience, patients, patients, patience. Happy growing.

I'm still working on all of that. Especially pH. I've noticed I can grow some plants and they do just fine
with my tap water and others...not so good. I just started trying some autos and the first batch of AK48 was really good!! But I got some product from a guy who has been doing it a long time and man. It just seemed so, so much better. Smell, density, everything. I am way far away from that but I get licks in with what I have the skill to grow...which is just OK stuff...not great stuff.

  6. Strain specific but most all my nugs are rock hard because of the light and strip I do on my plants.

  7. Can you explain the strip you do to your plants @thcwhisper?

  8. Good, solid sound advice Buzz. I feel like I've done everything I can think of now and want to take it to the next level. Where can I beg, borrow, or steal those skills? HA!!

  9. Anyone know a strain or two that DOES get rock hard in density? The only one I know of is the one I got...Wedding Cake. The one I bought from a pro. I've tried all kinds of strains and none of them have been rock hard...but then again it may be the farmer.

  10. I say light is the biggest factor.

  11. My approach is small plants packed in. I like 4-6 branches in week 3 stripped to 8-10 nodes. Strain dependent +or minus 2 nodes. It takes a couple runs to get to know the strain. Basically when I grow a strain the first time I go 12 nodes and see how much larf I get and adjust. I run 3 315 cmh's and 4 in week 4-6 of flower.

  12. Slurricane is rock hard flower if you have the light. I have an once jar but with the Slurricane it holds 1.5 ounces.

  13. and
indica usually more solid my experiences .
I can suggest some solid strands from seeds if your interested
Keep it under 80f more solid then higher temps genetics plant the most int this factor .

  14. Beautiful. Hey, I noticed a little yellow in your leaves. I know leaves yellow closer to harvest, but darn I've got two plants and they were doing fine right up until the last couple weeks and as I'm trying to bulk up the buds the leaves are all turning yellow for the first time. I didn't change anything. What the heck? Now I'm wondering if the leaves will be good enough to keep the buds bulking.

  15. My temp is kept consistent at 75 degrees. I'm interested!! I've been getting all my seeds from Nirvana. So many problems ordering them with credit card. Nirvana is the only one I can get to work.

  16. Wow!! sounds dense. I have only gotten seeds from Nirvana. I don't know if they have this. Pain in the butt buying them thru mail.

  17. indicas are more solid nuggets.. sativas usually puff out more and are more airy.. i prefer sativa personally.. i mean an ounce is an ounce no matter how you pack it..

  18. Those Sativas just grow so darn tall. I don't grow many, but I have grown some and they were really big for indoor. I mostly grow Indicas but have grown some Sativas. My Indicas are fluffy too. Not really fluffy, kind of medium
density. Not rock hard but not fluffy. Maybe that is just the way it is, but I got some professionally grown Wedding Cake and it was rock hard, smelled fantastic, and very powerful. So I need to up my growing game and I have not a clue how to do it. Stuck in a rut.

  19. Whisper, can you explain to me how the density is related to the strip? I'm not making this connection.

  20. Nirvana original glue will get rock hard. I have been running one for a few months and have flowered 4 of them from its clones. 2 oz fit in the jar comfortably.
