I've searched forums and photos far and wide. I havent seen anyone else run into this problem. It looks minimal, but just in case... What do you think is wrong? The rips and little holes are only at the top leaves. Just checked in one morning and noticed the ripping&holes 2 days ago. She had been healthy before this. I did just get a lil fan, but its not strong. she just wobbles when it hits her, so I don't think its the wind ripping the leaves. It doesnt look like lights burning her (from photos Ive seen). So what could it be? does it even matter? Just hard to figure out since the problem is not with the tips of her leaves like most people experience, but at the center of the top most leaves. Background info if u want: First timer who started with a bagseed, solo cup, potting soil, 40watt grow light, windowsill, aluminum foil, small apartment, and minimal money supply. Definitely a ghetto grow situation. Doing it more for fun/boredom than for the yield. Soil: After she outgrew the solo cup I put her in a 3gal pot with more potting soil (all I had) plus "Living Soil Concentrate for Super Soil" from Amazon mixed in. After that I would water her when needed and left the rest to her. Pests: Apparently I started to over water her or something because gnats started to show a week ago. I used cinnamon, neem, and yellow stickies to fight em. Now, I got the soil to completely dry out and I havent seen visible signs of them since. Lights: 150 watts at a 7 inch distance Nutrients: No additional feeding, just watering (tap water), I have never checked her pH Misc: 2.5 months old, 11 inches tall, shes always had purple stems since a baby (if that matters)
I have been consistently checking under her leaves and havent seen a single bit of movement from bugs. Dont have a magnifying glass though, just looking closely with flashlight. Do I really need a magnifying glass to see if there were to be little bugs?
You can use your cell phone and zoom in on photo. I need cheaters to read so for me yes I need a Loop . good luck
To identify them, yes. Some bugs are as tiny as a grain of sand and the only way to differentiate is with a loupe. They're only $10 on amazon.
well they are not doing much damage. a bit here and there. it does look like bugs but after going through nutrient disorder, narcotic spots at the top leaves that look like bug damage is also a symptom of manganese. it does look like big damage and see no bugs and the damage of nut also resembles bug damage is good to keep an eye on both .if 6ou get sticky traps and put them news the plant tiu will see if anything is buzzing around. they make a specific color blue for aphids and yellow for others .any stick tape would work . even tuck tape. it's just to catch s bug for identification purposes
