    I'm growing K-2 and I am in the 12th week. I sampled at end of week 11 and not impressed.
    Sampled 5 days later and much better now.

    Is it normal for an organically grown 8-9 week strain to take 12-13 weeks to fully ripen?

    Why does it take so long and what can be done to speed up the process?

  2. Look into crop steering techs That can help move things along to finish in a more natural manner. For soil grows where we dont change liquid feeds its more about some subtle environmental changes and cutting back watering to achieve good daily dryback.

  3. I know of 7 breeders who pump K-2 whose ya breeder, would help

  4. NIRVANA was my source for K2 seeds.

    When a breeder say it's strain takes 8-9 weeks, this number usually deserve some specification;
    -time count would start at flower formation. This is somehow subjective. But if you started counting days at flip, this could explain a 2 weeks margin.
    -breeders know their strains and how to dial in environment to grow the plants in optimal conditions.
    -out of a full room, the 8-9 weeks would be for the faster finishing phenotype.
    -finally, there is something called «the harvest window». This is the ideal period when the plant should be harvested. But again, this is somehow subjective, as some would harvest when trichomes are half half milky and clear, some would harvest when 30% of trichs are amber, and some harvest somewhere in the middle. This explain an other 2 weeks margin.

  6. Yes, I am familiar with your narrative above. Start counting after first sign of flower (about 10 days), so 7-9 weeks would be extended to 9-11 weeks. And waiting for amber may take an additional 1-2 weeks and now we are Iat 11-13 weeks?

    Is this the amount of time the average grower has to wait for a successful harvest? I just have not seen comments from others that they are having to wait that long.

  7. I agree. 11 weeks happens, 13 is very long for indicas, 15 weeks is the longest I've went but was for some Thai. Maybe she is just enjoying herself in the tent, making herself pretty for you?!!

  8. I really don't think that being an organic run made it longer than 7-10 days.

  9. When looking at breeder estimates, how much longer does it take for you?

  10. Some breeders are pretty much accurate, like ACE, witch I've been mostly growing in the past 2 years. Otherwise could say 2 weeks more. Depend on pheno. Rarely less than advertised. Also I've been into sativas before health issues, and used to like to harvest just before tichs turns amber.
