Gary Moore has died. He was a excellent guitar player and a off and on member of the band Thin Lizzy, he also has a large amount of solo work. Like his band mate Phil Lynott he is gone but never forgotten. I was never lucky enough to see Thin Lizzy before Phil Lynott died but I was lucky enough to see Gary Moore several times. RIP Gary =( I made a Thin Lizzy thread on a here a while back, no idea how much feedback it got but... Thin Lizzy is one of the greatest bands there ever were. Gary Moore and others paved the way for metal guitarists and lots of others by their uses of guitar harmonies. One of the greatest of his time, you will always be remembered Gary!
I bumped your thread Thin Lizzy (Calling all rock fans) yesterday. Its still alive. Just found this its pretty funny. Humorous Gary Moore [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KR7txrLvuY"]The easy guitar book sketch gilmour knopfler[/ame] .

Tributes pour in as Gary Moore’s post mortem results revealed Guitarist died from natural causes Published: Tuesday, February 8th. © Rock AAA. By Mick Coll Initial post mortem results have shown that guitar legend Gary Moore died of a suspected heart attack. Spanish forensic experts have requested further tissue and toxicology samples, however the investigating police officers have issued a statement to say that the death is not being treated in any way as suspicious. A judge has already signed release orders, allowing Moore’s brother, Glen, to take his body back home to the UK. As previously reported on RockAAA.com, Gary Moore died while on holiday in Spain with his girlfriend. The alarm was raised at 4am on sunday morning and paramedics were called to the five-star Kempinski Resort Hotel in the Costa del Sol. It has been reported that Moore had been drinking Brandy and Champagne shortly before he died. In the days since his passing, the music world has been coming to terms with its loss, and stars from every genre have been paying tribute to the Thin Lizzy legend. Fellow Irish rocker Bob Geldof called Moore “one of the greats”. He continued, “His playing was exceptional and beautiful. We won’t see his like again. “Axl Rose will say that without Thin Lizzy, you don’t get Guns ‘N’ Roses and that whole idea of rock and roll, and Gary was sort of fundamental in developing that twin-guitar lyrical thing, like on Parisienne Walkways, but, really, you didn’t have to cut the skin hard to find just a great, great blues player, and absolutely one of the best.” Founder of Good Vibrations Records, Terri Hooley, called Moore a musical genius and added: “He’ll always be remembered as a really jovial, fairly nice guy who could play the guitar and entertain thousands and thousands of people. “I think if people go back and go through his back catalogue, they’ll find a lot of gems there. One day we should have a statue in Belfast for him like they have a statue for Phil Lynott in Dublin.” Tributes have also been pouring in from the world of Pop Music. Danny Jones of the boyband Mcfly posted online, “I am gutted that one of my idols, Gary Moore, has died. An amazing musician that inspired me hugely. My thoughts are with his family, RIP”. Rock star Bryan Adams has called Moore a “guitarist extraordinaire”, whilst Sharon Osbourne has commented saying that she is devastated and that he will be sorely missed. The official Thin Lizzy Facebook page has posted the following statement: “It is with great sadness we hear of the passing of Gary Moore. “Our thoughts go out to Gary’s family at this time and our memories of Gary and his contribution to Thin Lizzy and music in general will live on forever.” It is likely that Moore’s funeral will take place in Brighton, where he had been living, rather than in his home city of Belfast. source Tributes pour in as Gary Moore’s post mortem results revealed [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GH9MWr44gc"]Gary Moore & Albert King - Oh Pretty Woman[/ame]
