Just found out one of my ladies has hermi'd on me. She's been to hell and back though, and this only started today (I suspect due to the fact I left her in the bathroom all yesterday ) Forgot to circle it, but see the ball on the end of the bud, and lots of orange hairs, and a calyx I popped had a seed in it So.. What are my choices here? Right now I have shim isolated, and it seems like it hasn't pollinated the other two I've done a fair bit of research, but opinions differ greatly. I may just end up continuing to flower her back under the 250MH since she's seedy & it'll be isolated. Silver lining is that I didn't get a male like I wanted, so this may be an alternative. Is it at all possible to just sit there picking off the sacks carefully and, if she gets back on track, that it may just stop? Or should I just cut my loses. There's going to be a lot of seed, obviously. If it was a stress induced hermi, and if I'm able to keep her seedlings happy, will I be right in assuming they should be fine? Or is there still a random, albeit bigger, chance of hermi's? Oh, and how common is the purple AK-48? I'm stoked! Peace
It all depends. If its a genetic trait then it's gonna keep on growing male flowers. If the male flowers developed because of stress and you fix the problem you'll be good as long as you catch the male flowers before they open. On large plants its near impossible to catch them all. If its your only plant it's definitely worth trying though
Cheers Numb. I'll keep her in the veg cupboard with the MH and a few cfls and see how she goes (it's empty atm). Haha yeah, there's no way I'm going to catch them all. Already have pollination. She's been pollinating from within, or so it seems, because the other ladies seem fine. Sad, she was going to be the breadwinner of this bunch, though the crit mass is looking pretty good again.
