  1. O fuck i've been looking all over for that brand of cereal dude.

  2. I can neither confirm nor deny that hypothesis. Back at ya tho.

Himalayan Gold Brand Frosted Flakes...they're grrrrrrrrrrrreat. :smoking:

Man I was fuckin ripped this morning.

  3. S'allright. Things rarely go as planned. However, I finally got my girls under the HPS.

First, the roof of the box was not sturdy enough to support that big ass can fan filter of mine. So I had to put it on the floor. Because of that, I could not fit the screen in the box so it had to come off.

It's not entirely light proofed yet, but pretty close. I'm going to have to get some wood to frame around the front doors. I also need to put an intake on the top of the box. Because of the fan the light is to the right of center and my dumb ass put the filter on the opposite side so that the light is off-center of the plants. My current fix is to just tilt the fuckin light until I get everything moved around, new ducting cut, etc.

After I'm done I think the light will be centered over the plants, there will be an intake coming from the opposite side and on the roof of the box. I also need a shelf or something to put the air pumps on, as they're on the reservoir right now.

Not sure if the air cooled hood is working as well as I'd like. I squished a small fan behind the filter but the temps were around 83-88F under the light. I closed the box and will check back in a little while.

    So here's a couple pics.

  4. looks good brotha...I run my lights at a slight angle if there are too many to fit directly underneath the lights...not as dramatic as yours but still not level always

  5. Good to hear and thanks for the response.

How bout the temp? You think 88F directly under the light is alright? I'm not sure why it's staying that hot. It doesn't seem that the air cooled hood is doing much for the heat of the light for some reason. I'm using insulated ducting and everything...

  6. Why the insulated ducting , that doesnt make sense. Would you get more airflow without all that crap stuffed in there. Or does the ducting just have a layer of insulation and still free flowing air? Sorry i'm not a handyman or anything , I don't know shit about ducting.

Honestly , my first few indoor grows were with temps about that , and even higher. Turned out fantastic. Though I guess I would never have known how much I lost on yield. I hear thats the main loss with heat is how it affects your yield.

Your buds look fantasic man , all that radiant heat blows . It would definitally be hotter if you did'nt have the glass hood , and I doubt you would be able to get it that close without one.

  7. Get a fan blowing from the left side to the right, so it goes into the filter. That should reduce temps a good amount. The ones in the middle look burnt so I'd say the temps are affecting them. The light is a LITTLE close. Can you raise it like 4-5 inches?

  8. I got insulated ducting mostly to try to keep the sound of the fan pulling air down. I've read that regular ducting causes the airflow to be louder than it has to be. Also, it's supposed to keep heat in the ducting better.

It's similar to regular ducting but the material is a transparent plastic instead of the aluminum foil like stuff the regular is made of. Then it has about an inch of insulation around the ducting itself.

One of the problems is that I need a light proof intake on the roof of the box. Right now the filter is sitting on the bottom right and the only intake is on the bottom left. So there's no airflow throughout the box. I have a fan running right in front of the buds and under the light but I really need some real airflow in there.

I'm going to move the filter to the left side, redo the ducting, cut an intake in the right side of the roof of the box, and use some more insulated ducting for a light proof intake. I might bust out a computer fan to put in the intake ducting to boost the intake. I also need to duct tape the insulated part of the ducting down.

This will allow me to put the plants directly under the light and allow for the best positioning of intake to filter.

Right now I'm wondering what I should bump my PPM up to...

I think it's about 900ppm or so atm, but that's including the SM-90 and KoolBloom I tossed in there. I'd say it's only about 600PPM of the micro/bloom.

I guess I'll be soaking a couple rockwools, rinsing some hydroton, and germing 2 more tonight. Can't decide between 2 HGs, 2 SCs, or 1 of each...

    Thanks for stoppin in, Hype.

  9. They actually just went into this box last night. I think the plants in the middle were having issues with PH fluctuations/too much or too little nutes/too little oxygen in the res or something of the sort.

After I move everything around I'm going to try to put the fan in there, but I need to put a small shelf in there or something for it to sit on.

Thanks for stoppin in, Jim. :smoking:

  10. whats up mane long time not been on but your girls look fuckin amazing man for real looks like things are starting to look up man. just a general rule of thumb if that HPS is close enough to be too hot for your hand its too close for the plants. peace brother ill be spying from the backgrowunds a bit if you want more info check out my thread im about to post:wave::smoking:

  11. Either way once you get your airflow problem worked out it's gonna be killer , not sure about the ppms. I just can't help but use anything but a one size fits all formula. We got a very small mother box set up for our Dp powerplant moms. Just waiting on some sprouts , had a small problem though . The new seeds we started did'nt sink overnight in water =( I'm really hopeing they are still good.

  12. Swinging thru to check out the SC nugs... looking damn good as is. Get that light right and some breeze on the ladies and you'll really be cooking with gas.

  13. Sup folks. Long time no see.

Well, I had checked them about 10 days ago or so and they were already turning pretty amber (trichs) so I didn't really mess with it too much. I just dumped the reservoir, put nothing but RO water and FloraKleen in, and let it flush until last night.

I plan on using some molding/wood/whatever the hell it's called to shore up the lightproofing and what not before I put the two HGs I started in there.

Thanks for showin up mang. I'll check your thread to see what you're up to. :smoke:

I'm hoping that closing up the cracks and what not will help the airflow, but I may put a small computer fan in the floor of the box to pull air in...

Ya know, I never do the sinking in water thing with seeds. What is the purpose? I usually just slap seeds in a damp paper towel, throw said paper towel in a tupperware container, seal it up, and throw it in the cupboard. I've had 100 percent germ rates since starting this method (not counting the horrible hermie seeds I pulled off a dying ICE plant).

Thanks for stoppin in Hype. I'll have to look around for your journal to see what you're up to.

I cut 'em down yesterday. A couple nugs got a bit burnt but all in all I think they're looking purty. Yield seems to be decent as well. Light is already straightened out but I need to work on the airflow a bit.

I'll post the pics in my next post.

So, as I said I flushed for about 7-10 days with RO water and Flora Kleen after I saw that they were already turning amber 10 days or so ago. Chopped 'em last night. Trimmed about half of it, and am getting ready to start on the other half. I thought I'd go ahead and post some pics though.

I have also already started two more Himalayan Gold fem and will start 2 more in a separate res once I get this flowering cab straightened out.

Also, I've been smoking that HG and AB my boy and I harvested a few weeks ago and DAMN that shit is the bomb. The QWISO I made from it has been keeping me lit up like a Xmas tree. :smoke:

So here are some pics from the last week or two while it was still growing:

  15. looks like you finally got some high quality shit man i got a round of appause over hear for ya:hello::wave:

  16. Thanks Zab.

I think the buds are dry enough to start curing so I just weighed it out and put it in jars.

Came out to 116g, a hair over a QP.

So, the final weight on the 1 Himalayan Gold Fem (Greenhouse) and 2 Aurora Borealis (Flying Dutchmen) was 158g, almost averaging 2 oz per plant, grown under a 400watt MH in veg and 400watt HPS in flower.

The final weight on the 2 Strawberry Cough Fems (Dutch Passion) was 116g, averaging just a tad over 2 oz per plant, grown under a 4 foot-4 bulb 234watt 18000 lumen T5 in veg and the first 5 weeks of flowering, with a 600watt HPS for the last 3-4 weeks of flower.

I've already started 2 more Himalayan Gold fems but I'm not sure if I'll be starting a journal for them or not. This section needs to be merged with regular indoor or something because we sure as hell don't get many responses anymore.

So, thanks for comin along for the ride on this one. I'm finally smokin fine with HG, SC, AB, and the QWISO from hell. :smoking:

Herbal, Zab, Screw, Hype, Jim, and everyone else that helped along the way: Thanks a lot. Your advice and suggestions are what make this place great.

    Peace.

  17. Wow dude , Killer Harvest.

  18. Great lookn harvest!:smoking:

  19. Hey nice job as always.:hello:

Hey man talk to AW and see if he can move you over. Or start up a new thread in the not-so advanced section.lol

  20. the success of a man cannot be measure by the size of his harvest, but rather by his time spent with family and friends enjoying the harvest ;)
