Respect others' beliefs

Discussion in 'Religion, Beliefs and Spirituality' started by TheJourney, Dec 26, 2010.

  1. How can it be that so many people can be so convinced of such different truths? Certainly there are intelligent people of all beliefs. How could it be that two intelligent people could both earnestly search, and reach vastly different conclusions? Clearly there's something about the truth which makes it difficult to find. Respect the truth. It is deep and mysterious. It speaks to different people in different ways. They are simply following their path. You could argue their truth.

  2. if i feel as if their beliefs are disgusting, self-depricating, dehumanizing, destructive, live-denying, or harmful in anyway than why would i ever respect them. not to say i would waste much of my time resenting them or go out of my way just for petty spite but i would certainly never bring myself to corrupt my own personal values my granting them something as important to me as respect.

  3. Certainly there are negative things out there. I don't mean you should be content with anything less than what you believe you should strive to. But yet understand that, in the scheme of things, your truth is no more true than his truth. Just because it's "true"(in the same way that your truth is true) doesn't mean it's "good" or "right."

Your definition of truth is incorrect. Truth is truth, and there is only one truth.

If someone thinks some retarded thing that couldn't possibly be true, like i dunno, say scientology, then there is no way i will respect their beliefs.

Believing that god is a human man that lives on another planet with a bunch of women is absurd and i challenge someone to somehow make that sound reasonable.

  5. my truths are good and right for me strictly because theyre mine, i created them for just that purpose. you asked why dont people respect others beliefs and i awnsered you.

  6. Ideas are not created equal.

I happen to believe that respect is to be earned and not automatically deserved, and I find the people who profess to value respect the most are those who often deserve it the least. If we respect ourselves, should it matter this much whether others respect us too?

It also occurs to me that this forum has rules regarding respectful behavior, and that's probably enough said right there. There is a rule, people are punished if the rule isn't followed, and so this thread really seems redundant.

  7. Always so argumentative. lol. That's ok though :)

  8. Give respect and love to every single thing of creation in the universe. That's how I try to live. No one needs to earn anything. If everyone followed this guideline, the world would be at total and complete peace, with no crime and abundance for all. If everyone had to prove theirselves first, you would run into alot more arguments, crimes, and alot more negativity. I very very rarely say something is 100% right but if EVERY BEING gave unconditional to everything our world would be at complete peace, perfection, and bliss. Anything less is of the ego.

  9. yes, of course if everyone did it your way you would have no problem. should that come as a surprise to anyone? but there is a problem, because most people don't give a damn about ethics, and so for what reason should i respect such people? if you want to respect the cruel and selfish people of the world that's your business, i guess. i don't deal in absolutes if i can avoid it.

  10. Learn from the best.

"Be the change the you want to see in the world."
    - Ghandi

Peace on earth can't be achieved if no one is willing to start the chain reaction.
Dont be the person waiting around for things to be done for you.

  11. Artificial value judgments.

What good is peace? Even when we are gone, conflict will continue. Some of us delude ourselves with these waterfalls of goodwill and hopes for peace perhaps to forget that. Once we are gone, lions will still chase gazelles. Life will still compete with other life. I don't see the point in denying that we are simply an extension of nature, and we do all the same things in our refined, "civilized" way.

We sit around contemplating how we can love one another while animals go extinct who could just as well be asking whether it's even worth doing, saving humanity. If you want utopia, the closest you will get to it is via global war, and once it is "achieved" it will be at least as imperfect as things are now.

I do not need a great love for peace or goodwill to see that my excess is wasted unless I pass it along to someone who lacks. You can set a satisfying goal, overachieve, and share the excess with humanity without being an insufferable peace preacher. If you truly want satisfaction, you'll set achievable goals.

  12. I do set achievable goals. My goal isn't world peace. I set personal goals, which are a step in the long process of world peace. These personal goals of mine make me a better person and raise my vibration. The universe brings me much joy and love when I achieve my goals via the law of attraction. I'm never, ever mad, sad, or fearfull when I am on my direct path and achieving my goals. It is true that there will never be global peace in the 3rd dimension because this is the dimension of duality...With good there is evil. You can personally though connect with the higher dimensions at this moment in time in this human form. You won't be consciously in a higher dimension, but you can connect with the higher realms and feeling the loving vibrations and energies. In different realities like the 5th dimension, there is no duality. Only love exists, no evil. So if you connect with these 5th dimensional energies you can feel only love and not involve yourself with the negative side of duality. Hope this helps buddy :)

  13. Theres duality in every "dimension", duality is how existence is possible. If your talking of what I think you are theres good and evil on the 4th "dimension" as well.

The only thing that is truly Unified is the uncreated that creation is created from. lol

  14. My mistake, there is some duality in all dimensions up until the 6th dimension. Although there is less and less duality, the higher the dimension.

"Duality exists within the 3rd, 4th, 5th and slightly in the 6th dimensions.   In this system there are 12 dimensions which are reachable through conscious awareness.  There are however an infinite number of dimensions. The 13th, for example, is out of our awareness, as it exists outside the parameters of conscious observation of the universe, we therefore conceive it as simply a void.  Without consciousness, matter and energy do not exist."

  15. You know sometimes I feel kind of bad because I like you people and I'm always on here talking down the occult, the new age and the mysteries and such.

It is not that I care that people believe what they believe; I'm all for it. I want people to be free to believe what they want.

I just disagree with a secret satanic agenda to take over the world and all that bs.

I don't want to be part of a global pantheist religion around Gaia; or what ever.

I can't stand the lies and deceptions such as the sun behind the deities heads and changing all of Gods laws and stuff so people don't realize that they are practicing the occult.

And don't get me started on the whole homosexual agenda which part of the breakdown of the family; another sortie against God and humanity....

I strongly recommend that you don't follow the occult and that you turn to Jesus and the Gospel that he preached but I'm not going to force it on anyone.

My big issue is that the new age agenda is all about global inclusion and unity and oneness.

I would never force my beliefs on anyone but I feel that the world is headed for some seriously inclusive intolerance. That just sounds ugly.

  16. You're asking me to be disingenuous.

If I don't respect someone's beliefs then I don't respect their beliefs. Just because they perceive it as truth doesn't mean I am automatically going to respect their perspective.

  17. I don't know the whole truth, but I know you're lying here. Part because anyone with open eyes can see negativity (evil!), and another part because you cannot resist the temptation of calling non-positivity negativity without even considering a non-binary option. The question that remains is whether you are lying to us (which would be pretty negative), or you are lying to yourself (wishful thinking).

Or will you tell us that tyrants around the world butcher people every day out of love?

  18. There is neither love nor hate. These are concepts we have made to deal with our reality.

  19. My friend I would never give you anything less than my real feelings and thoughts from the bottom of my heart. With that being said, you either purposely took my words out of context or misunderstood what I said.

I said in the 5th dimension there is no evil, which is correct IMO. That is what i have learned through mediation, energy work, and research. I did however make a mistake by saying there in no duality in the 5th dimension, which i did correct in an earlier post...there is some duality, but not nearly as much as there is here in the 3D realities. One of the things that happen to not exist in the 5th dimension is evil...there is only love there.

    - peace, joy, love, and light

  20. I ignored what did not come from any measurable truth. So okay, in your fifth dimension, there's only love. In the sixth, there's only hate. Six is a higher number than five, so... that shows you. They're my feelings they must be correct!

    See the problem?
