I'm done with the drying my first time but I have doubts on managing FINAL JARRED buds. I grow for myself but in the case I have to give some to friends to recover costs, what is "current, normal, acceptable residual water/humidity level in bud you give out ? This is what i learned so far: 1. I put buds in jar a first time after 3days hung ad 1 day paper bag: say weight was 100grams at that moment 2. I discoved after little that it was TOO EARLY and bad smell started so.. 3. I put them back in paper bags in a vented room 4. after about 3 days, checking steam breakability, I moved back to jars. This time weight was about 70g, ie, beside weight lost in first 4 days , bud lost AN OTHER 30% and they were REALLY DRY yet steam not snapping (paper bag was slightly open not clipped or other). 180 cm (6 ') sativas manicured buds was now weighting about 1 oz!!! This was a SHOCK. I thought I OVERDRYIED THEM so I.. 5. put orange peel in jar and after 2/3 days they ALMOST recovered the lost 30% so i removed peel and left buds in jar for hopefully final stay. Now one weight or an other is ok for me. But when I gave 10g -just out of jar - to a friend he after some days said the weight was BADLY REDUCED... so, the Q... what is commercially acceptable in term of residual humidity in buds that you dont smoke directly?
