Anyone play this yet? I was pretty reluctant to try it out considering how disappointed i was with the 6th one. but my friend got it and we played it for awhile. It definitely reminds me more of the old school resident evils. Feels more survival horror minimalist then non stop action. Some of the scenes are pretty good and it kind of has a dead space feel. Lots of long hallways and lots of doors, mini puzzles and clues to the backstory. Unfortunately there's a few things missing. After playing dead space 3, most of the monsters feel stiff and unresponsive. Some of the combat is more tedious than frightening. Like right now, i'm at a part where you're playing as chris redfield and you're in this dinky ass casino room and there's 3 gigantic bosses that can kill you instantly if you get anywhere near them. It takes about 15-20 minutes of playing ring around the rosie just to kill one of them. How the fuck they expect you to down three when you have very little room to move is overkill. We gave up when we got to this part because it was just too over the top. I feel like they draw out simple tasks to go on forever to add to meat of the game. Other then that it feels like a resident evil game. I dunno if i'll buy it just yet, definitely going to wait till its $10 or so. But if you like survival horror games (its a dying genre unfortunately) i'd say check this one out. Just don't set the bar very high. Afterall this game was originally made for the 3ds and this is just an hd port. nothing too innovative. I'd give it a 7/10 after 6 chapters. My opinion on it could change entirely though.
I played it for 3DS. Not many people will probably agree with me on this, but I preferred Mercenaries 3D to Revelations. Revelations just had. . .boring enemies. Boring story. I didn't enjoy it at all. But I also didn't play it stoned. I might just get it again to try.
