Here is another article, today in the New York Times, which to me points out the problem with prohibition. War Without Borders - In Drug War, Arizona Tribe Feels Invaded by Both Sides - Series - NYTimes.com Again they try to relate MJ to cocaine, meth and heroin though. I also loved the crap about how they caught 2 of 8 and they actually think they made a difference. What a waste of money paying a bunch of agents for that. What does that tell the public, "We spent millions of dollars on equipment and to pay a few agents to stop all of 25% of the MJ that crossed the border tonight." I am sick of this crap. Not to mention they are harassing a tribal government who should just tell the feds to F-off.
ah you just made me remember this, I was watching tv and they were airing a commericial for the show Border Wars and at the end I dont remember exactly what it said but they mentioned they have captured a quarter of a million dollars in drugs(though they didnt say if it was in a year or month, etc). I couldn't believe it when i heard it, they just blatantly pointed out how much of a waste the drug war is.
I felt the effects of prohibition ealry today getting food at the groccey store with my mom and some dumb "gangsters" were getting all mad at some guy for his jacket... He was all like "take that bum ass jacket off hommie" and the other guy was like "I don'kt fuck, fuck you blah blah I'm from blah blah random crew name blah blah fuck you" and then the guy that was telling the other guy to take his jacket off walked outside and was paceing back and forth waiting for the other guy to come out..i didn't want to get caught up in the gun fire so me and my mom boned out as fast as we can.
^ ...and how is that from prohibition? I guess if dude hit a blunt he wouldn't have got so angry. And I don't see how prohibition is affecting native americans because it's only from them trying to smuggle weed over. They're only trying to smuggle weed because a big part of reservations are in poverty. They're only in poverty because we took their shit. Big cycle but overall coming from the american government.
it because most people in a gang are in it to sell drugs to make easy money,if you made drugs legal people won't be fighting over bullshit like "your on corner*Gat*gat*gAT*". not many join a gang to steal cars
Even if u made weed legal that have a huge effect on crime but that wouldn't stop dudes from being on the corner trying to hustle something else. Honestly the crimes come from the situation theyre in. Unless you legalize all drugs. But the US would never do that with all the money they get from that.
yeah i said the word drugs and by that i mean all drugs not just weed. And yes i want them all legal. The only people who are benefiting from drugs being illegal is the fucking D.E.A. Being paid to fight an UN-winnable war.
I wasn't saying that it affects Native Americans any different than anyone else just that this single reservation is seeing a lot of activity from the drug war as they are right on the border and are a high traffic area fro the border crossing drug smuggling. And yeah we took their land in the first place but my understanding is that the reservations set the natives up as a sovereign nation within the United States. I just had a thought too. What if this reservation decided to legalize and told the feds to leave. Doesn't federal law recognize the tribes as separate from the United States? I am not sure but it was just a thought. Think of all the tourism the reservations would get
