  1. Ok...some people have responded in a positive manner to the Reputation (Little green boxes) and some have responded in a negative manner. This is something that we can change if need be.

We\'d prefer everyone just vote but, if you want to post, please feel free to do so...just remember to vote. Only votes can count. We\'ll decide on how long to leave this poll up a little later.

Just click on yes or no, please...or I don\'t care.

    :) Thanks!

*However, if in the end, we choose to keep it and people use it as a tool to call other\'s names and such then it will automatically be killed anyway.*

  2. I dont really have a problem with it, Dont really see whats the big deal though. I guess I vote for it to stay how it is. It shows the new people who they can go to for help becuz they have been posting on the forum for a good period of time, has a good rep. on the forum, and know what there talkin about.

  3. i dont really care... i dont see how it can hurt :smoke: ...

  4. why not be recognized as a senior member thats been longstanding and has a good rep in this community?

  5. I love all the changes that have taken place here.
You\'ve got my vote to keep it.

  6. If we ask a question, the reputation meter lets us know how much to value the answers we recieve from specific members, so I say its good!

  7. i dont really care if you have it.
if nameclling and negative stuff starts to becomes a big issue you can get rid of the comment place and the disapprove of message place

  8. I have a ? about it. I have 5 messages in my user cp, 4 green boxes and a red one. Some of them dont even say anything. Is there a way you can see who sends them to you????

I didnt even know thats what those boxes were until now lol.

also, how would i send one to someone else?

  9. There are two buttons in the upper right hand corner of each post, it\'s the one on the left. When you hover your mouse over it it says \"Add to so and so\'s rep\" or something like that.

The only problem I can foresee is if, since people are saying that they can judge the value of a post by the posters rep, people start to automatically assume that those without a good reputation listing have nothing to offer. When in fact someone who just joined two minutes ago may have the perfect answer to a question of yours.

  10. Well I\'ve already said my piece about it, but I personally don\"t think it\'s necessary, It\'s pretty obvious just by reading the boards who\'s a senior member and who isn\'t... it says when we joined, so why do we need people confirming or denying how cool someone is.. Or is not... It\'s not about something special for the senior members, it\'s about something for everyone to judge each other and how valuable their statements may be... see, but the problem really is just that... how do you determine the value of a statement? I mean it seems a bit subjective to me... what I may deem valuable someone else may deem crap...and someone who has a low rep may get discouraged and be afraid to post for fear of new bad rep... The self image is very fragile, and I am against anything that could potentially cause more harm than good. If you\'re cool, everyone knows it, believe me... they do! You don\"t need some green bar above your avatar to assure everyone... all it takes is reading a few posts, and you can see it.

But whatever... I mean I\'ve noticed at this point there are just as many \"don\"t want\" and \"don\"t care\" as there are \"I want\" and yet no one else has said why they voted for anything other than \"I want\". I think in a situation like this, if you\'re going to vote for a choice, at least explain WHY you chose that... that way we don\"t have a thread full of \"I love it, let\'s keep it\" and a poll that says the opposite... Just my opinion of course.

  11. I agree with WaterLillyFairy, and I posted why in the other thread.

I agree that it is mildy \"high schoolish\".

  12. Thanks for the info, i dont care one way or the other on the matter. I am suprised i have any.

  13. Thanks for the input, Blades. Please, keep it coming.

We just want everyone to be comfortable here. We\'re a stoner family and we all just need to be comfy, happy and high and if the Reputation function takes away from that, we want to know...if it adds to it, we want to know.

    :)

  14. I don\'t really care much for the reputation system. It doesn\'t show how much you know and how good a person you are. It\'s too subjective. I actually sent a pm to sj a few weeks ago to ask him make mine half the size and write \"Underachiever\" i the pop-up. Everyone should make up their own opinion on all others based on their posts\' contents, not on how many \"friends\" they\'ve got.

  15. i think its kool. some people may enjoy and i know some will not. but, if you don\'t want to participate, don\'t. but that\'s just my take on it...:smoke:

  16. It should stay. It\'s a great feature, adds a little more depth to the boards. People need to utilize it more however. If someone gives you some good advice, shares something useful, or simply makes you laugh by all means give them some reputation. Its a useful tool and can HELP distinguish users who have been here along time and put in alot of work and help.. why wouldn\'t you keep it.. HighSchoolish? no thats just how you are making it.. it could be something really unhighschoolish.. if people treated it unhighschoolish. :) peace

  17. (post to see if he has any green bar thingys)

  18. I never even noticed it until now, I say stick w/ it!

  19. hahaha can you imagine it at yahooka :p

  20. I say keep the reputation, and do away with the post count, as long as disabling the post count doesn\'t disable anything else.. maybe have something that shows negitive reputation as well, since a new member would only have one bar, and another member thats been here a while, and tries to cause trouble would also only have 1 bar. :smoke:
