Am I the only one who finds it funny that all these Americans are against Bristish owned Northern Ireland. I mean should an American living in the south west move because Mexico wants its land back (if you don't know after the Mexican American war the US took all territory west of Texas for a cool $15 million). Not to mention all the land taken from indigenous populations. It seems like the pot calling the kettle black.
I'm aware of the atrocities they committed but that doesn't justify the atrocities the British committed.
coming from an American it don't sound right. Now if there is anyone here that actually lives in Northern Ireland speak to me. If not, you have absolutely no idea. Rapist jack, you raise a valid point. We came in to protect the prods, they needed protecting. Shit happened on both sides end off. It's over!!
Lol you Brits love to comment on the state of affairs in America. I think I can state my opinion in your country too.
Please highlight where I gave my opinion on America. I live in n.ire so I feel completely able to give my 6 eggs worth
I'm not saying you did. I'm saying Brits and Europeans in general give their opinions on American affairs all the time so I think I should be able to state mine.
I'm guessing that you are an American that still thinks he's Irish because of your descendants or whatever. How about you read up on what actually happened rather than taking someone's word on it. I honestly don't mind you giving your opinion, that's what this place is for but misguided loyalties are very different. If you came here you would see what the war has done to people it's sad, heartbreaking!! And the cycle won't stop until hateful people stop trying to stir it up again. I am English. I have many many catholic friends whom I love. But a lot of them have the same distaste for this shit as I do.
No lol. If you want to talk about heritage I'm 80% Scottish by ancestry. I don't think I'm Scottish. I'm American, born in America, semi-raised in America (lived in the Netherlands from 15 to 19). I don't think I'm that misguided. I know that the IRA did despicable things, killed innocents etc. . I was simply saying that mentioning Bloody Sunday with a smiley face.. The way u phrased it etc was not appealing.
Yes, I lost my temper, and I will wholeheartedly agree that it was a stupid post. But when you are dealing with people who thinks it is big and clever to mention the IRA reforming I'm sorry I lost it. I could tell you things that would make your hair curl about the troubles... I just don't want to. He's sat down in Dublin thinking hes clever. Well dubadub, come north of the border mate.

That's what happens when you sell / gain land. It seems like it is the pot calling the kettle black.
Alaska back to russia? Lol I think we bought that from them eh
Yeah we did. My point was, land was acceded with an agreement from both sides.
I was going to mention those, but both were voluntary exchanges between nations, land for cash. Now whether or not those lands rightfully belonged to these nations is a different story. Edit: my point was that the British "occupation" of Northern Ireland is just like the U.S. "occupation" of the American Southwest. It was once part of a different nation, now it is our territory.
