So today I went to my LHS to pick up a replacement whip for my vapor bros. I knew the didn't have the official VB whips , but they were familiar with the brand and said this would work so I thought it would make a good back up for a couple weeks until I can go back to NYC for an official. The problem I'm facing is that the GonG joint is a little larger then the official, the shopkeeper told me this was fine (I even brought in my old whip). It doesn't fit nearly snugly and the heating element is closer to the herb. I'm not getting nearly as big vapor hits, but I'm still definitely inhaling vapor. It also felt impossible to cash the bowl. I turned the temp up to noon and some of its black, somes light brown and 75% of it is still greenish. I didn't want to turn it up any higher because burning it is disgusting. Am I doing something wrong or did I get screwed?
I'm really not completely sure, but, it sounds like the new whip you bought is just a little smaller than your old one. Just pack smaller bowls
:\ shouldve ordered one from the net, the shops will always tell you it will "fit". Meh, i love my LHS but sometimes they just try to offload stuff.
why did you bring in your old whip..instead of just vapor bros unit to see if it would fit...bringing paraphernalia into any headshop is a no no.clean or dirty. sounds like you packed it too tight, little air circulation so its all going to the center of your screen making your herb dark in the middle and green all around. My advice is not to pack it so tight/stir occasionally. They sell whips on the official website, its not encouraged to buy different whips/wands for different vaporizers.
You should have just bought a VB whip...these things are not all the same, so my guess is since it isn't air tight you are getting a higher vapor to air ratio and not vaproizing the herb evenly...my advice is cut your losses, and order a EZ change whip kit off vaporwarehouse so you know it will work, and no longer have to deal with pain in the ass metal screen replacement.
