  1. Seen a few threads regarding the abuse of rep \"closed\" usually if someone is doing that why not name and shame them instead of disabling their rep or bannings...........

  2. Because it\'s our choice, and it\'s an abuse of the rep feature, so we have every right to disable the feature for the users abusing it.

  3. yeah its usually yours choices inverted commas sorry I opened another can of worms:rolleyes: I love fishing:Dso have youse disabled their rep functions?

  4. No more warnings will be issued on the matter. We have more than enough to do, without having to deal with silly nonsense like that. The users in question know who they are, and now also know that we can trace their comments. It won\'t be public information when it happens. Part of moderation...

  5. Naming and shaming isn\'t part of how we \"play\" and it won\'t be.

It\'s like if a member decides that their paranoid about what they do in their private life and what they post here...they decide that they want all of their shit deleted due to that fact...they end up having a long list of user names that they asked to be deleted, yet they don\'t so much want that info shared...it\'s not just a touch of one button either-it takes work............................and then we call them out and say \"Yo, this is \"paranoid\" and they used to be < insert many different user names > and I\'ll share their business with everyone.\"

That\'s not going to happen. Neither is a \"name and shame game.\"

(*When it comes to things like this, there is no reason for us to tell someone\'s business to everyone else. They know when they get warned. If they\'re willing to chill the f out with whatever the issue may be, then the name and shame game would have already hurt their reputation here...and I\'m not talking little fuckin\' green squares. Their character will be attacked and that\'s just not cool.*)

I happen to have a right as an administrator to \"close\" any thread that I feel a need to close. Informational threads that I post (i.e warnings about rep abuse) contain whatever they may contain and need no responses, therefore I close them.

I close other threads, too, of course.

  6. Now that\'s a great analogy, and quite fitting I might add.
