Remember, Remember! The fifth of November,

One Time I was staying with friends in Glasgow Scotland a knock at the door, and their were a dozen slum kids at the door, right out of a Dickens novel, 'Penny for the guy'. they demanded, behind them they were dragging a body dressed in mechanics overalls, filled with what looked like crap maybe dried lawn grass?
what got me was they were so skinny and dirty, trying to look mean was a joke I told them to fuc off, and slammed the door, but they persisted and I flipped them a dollar(scots word for 2 quid)
I asked my host what it was all about, at length he went into the grand story of Guy Fawkes
later that night we went to a local park to watch the grand bonfire, it was really popular, and amidst the crowd and smoke we could detect the smell of quality weed, so it was a place to light up and be down with oppression and dictatorship, but hang on the nights about a catholic fighting protestants, but these days has become a night of fighting any political oppression, seen the movie V for Vendetta

Considering whats been going on in the world of late it don't seem to be such a bad idea, I'm not much into Halloween so given a choice I'll fight oppression over feeding ghosts and kids ..lol

The fifth of November,

The Gunpowder treason and plot;

Guy Fawkes and his companions

Did the scheme contrive,

To blow the King and Parliament

All up alive.

Threescore barrels, laid below,

To prove old England's overthrow.

A rope, a rope, to hang the Pope,

A penn'orth of cheese to choke him,

A pint of beer to wash it down,

And a jolly good fire to burn him.
