Lets said you practice all religion all at once throughout your life till the day you died, and lets say there is an after life,do you serve multiple punishments and/or multi rewards or "paradises"?
if there IS an afterlife, then i guess it would mean that only one of the religions was correct.. so that would mean there is only 1 afterlife with only one set of rewards and punishments.
I think there is only one reward or punishment. Either you spend eternity with God, or without. It would be the one that is true.
sooOOooo religion is a gamble, you can put all your money on black ,spin the wheel, and can either hit the jackpot or lose everything or the 3rd option ,witch is not to gamble at all
so your saying not practicing a thee "true religion" i'll be punishment because it's in the contract of religion that if you don't practice you go to thee "punishment afterlife land"?Damn.I'm damn if i do and damn if i don't
No, I said, you are unable to not be a play a part. Choosing non-action is like choosing not to play. Your still choosing. Ignore the double negative. Thanks.
Go look up 'Descartes - God claim' should help clear up a few things One view is that, if you pray all your life & believe in god, when you die and there is an afterlife, you get rewarded. if you pray all your life & believe in god, but there is no afterlife? No worries, you only wasted some time during your life praying But if you don't pray or believe, you don't get the opportunity of afterlife, since there's a 50 50 chance it might exist (high odds!)
Pascal's Wager. Look it up. It's what you just said pretty much. It's not super valid though. Soren Kierkegaard got's some interesting stuff about faith.
pascal's wager flipped on its head: through the same reasoning, one could argue that being a non-believer is more beneficial. since there is little to no evidence for the existence of god, many atheists are just being rational in their approach to religion. so, it wouldnt make sense for a god who values rationality to punish those being rational. in fact, they may even receive a reward for their rational habits, while believers would be punished for going with the flow without questioning it. so, we get: if god exists and you believe: punishment for credulity if god doesnt exists and you believe: no real harm, especially since you wont exist to know you were wrong if god exists and you dont believe: you are rewarded for your rationality if god doesnt exist and you dont believe: no real harm, you saw it coming.
sorry.. missed it i hope the ancient greeks and their mythology turn out to be the right religion if there is one.. i would escape the underworld and try getting at aphrodite http://littlefairytaleprincess.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/botticelli_venus1.jpg
