Sup GC? I made a reggae/dubstep-ish song that I want you all to hear. Let me know what you think, its the first time I've ever tried something like this. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjCGD01dAow"]YouTube- Rules The Nation[/ame]
Pretty good for a first try.. It seemed consistant smoothe all the way through, if i had to give some constructive criticism I would say to try and pick a more varying reggae song so that you could add some harder bass lines to make it a little more interesting.. overall pretty good, I am looking forward to hearing some more man
Thank you for the feedback dude. I agree that it needs something more and a better bassline but what the hell, first try at it. Anyway, thanks for the feedback!
Thanks dude show your friends! And expect more stuff just like this from me. I found I THOROUGHLY enjoy making reggae beats.
I liked it. Like previously mentioned, I would switch up the bassline around but you have a pretty good start imo. I'd like to hear more in the future!
What kinda instruments did you use?? Is it like a program that synthesizes the instruments or is it a workstation or like a combo of electronic drums and shit? Sounds pretty good, I'm definitely diggin' it. I like early UB40 dubs. I dig a more natural drum sound, like live-tracked drums but in dub it's alot to do with just looped samples.
I did the whole thing in Logic Pro 9 on my Macbook Pro. No midi controllers, synthesizers work stations or anything. It's incredibly easy to make music in Logic although I have had experience in Reason, Ableton, Fruity Loops and other beat making software previously, which sort of makes it easier. But yeah, whole thing done in Logic Pro 9 with my Macbook Pro's built in keyboard. I also prefer a more natural sound to my music. Wobble bass and other stereotypical dubstep things are cool and all but I just prefer takin' it easy and making it sound as natural as I can.
