Refrigerator as grow room?

  1. Okay just an idea. There is an old abandoned refrigerator that doesn't work that is just sitting in our garage. I don't know the measurements off hand and can get pictures when I get home.

What do you think plausible or not? I'm really looking to start growing but I cant be too obvious with the people I live with. And there is usually a car parked in front of it when people are home so they can't go snooping in it, no one does anyway.

To give you a little info about the fridge it's a side by side two door . One side fridge one side freezer. Also exactly how bad does it stink at the end of flowering?

  2. Indeed, I've seen some sic journals on fridge stealth grows, just search they are out there.

  3. Pictures.

  4. Also i can take the shelfs out and mod it accordingly

  5. sounds like a pretty great idea, i may steal it. Been trying to think of a cheap/easy option for a veg "room" so i can finally run a perpetual. Your side by side fridge looks like you could run a 2 plant (1 vegging/1 flowering) perpetual, who knows maybe even more, with very little modding.

oh, they stink a whole lot while late in flowering IMO a carbon scrubber hidden behind it would be mandatory if stealth is very important.

  6. How late into flowering will it stink and for how long? What if I kept it outside in a pot hidden, would it still stink?

  7. It would be air tight and light proof... Gut the cooling system out to add your fans and filters... I say strip out the interior, not just the shelves but the inner walls, then line it with mylar... Just personal preference, but i'd want more room and a more reflective surface.
