Reflector/ballast cord too long

  1. I'm doing a 400w closet grow and my reflector cord is wayyyy too long. Can I leave it bunched up like this?

  2. Yes. It is perfectly fine to coil up extra cord. I would ALWAYS prefer my cords to be too long than too short.

  3. Here's a better idea of how much. Like a few feet at least. Responses will be appreciated.. I wanna hook it up ASAP.

  4. This. Again.

  5. cool thanks man. do you ever have your cords or ballast within reach of the light? my light is like right over the ballast.

  6. I keep my ballast outside of my grow area due to heat issues.

  7. hmm i dont think i can do that its all in a closet. how big is your grow area and how many watts?

  8. My grow area is 6'x8' x 7' high. I use a 1000w bulb in a Magnum XXXL hood for four plants in a undercurrent DWC system.

I grow great weed but honestly, I am thinking about switching to a soil or coco grow.

  9. that sounds like a damn awesome setup!! im only trying to run 400w for 2 plants in about a 3'x3' area.

  10. I don't see anything wrong with that set up at all.

  11. ^What he said. That sounds just about perfect. Those babies will love each getting 200 watts. Might I suggest tacking up some cheap mylar tarps from amazon. It will get you even more out of the lights and it wouldn't even cost $10 for the whole closet.
