Not really... They are reflective but don't reflect light like you think it would. If you're in a jam flat white paint is easy to do and works really well. If not in a jam grab some reflective mylar. It's the best.
Glass mirrors absorb a lot of light when it passes through the glass twice. Black & white sheeting is a personal favourite, but aluminium foil can work well if you're stuck and have some available. There are a lot of myths about foil but it actually reflects quite well, there is a reason why almost all light reflectors are made from aluminium
